I'm not an incredibly huge TMBG fan(haven't heard most of their music). I will remedy that shortly, but for right now I really like Birdhouse In Your Soul, I Palindrone, and She's an Angel. I haven't heard any the songs you listed except Birdhouse, so I'll try them out. Thanks!

Why they changed it, I can't say (or was that the New York line? oh well)..

I only own Flood and Apollo -- so I haven't heard a lot of their catalog.

Of of those, I really like:

Particle Man
Birdhouse in Your Soul
Statue Got Me High
Racist Friend

and many more. I know that fans generally list those albums as their weaker albums, but I really like them a lot.

In no order:

Ana Ng
Shoehorn With Teeth
She's An Angel
Which Describes How You're Feeling
(She Was A) Hotel Detective
She Was a Hotel Detective (on the 'Back to Skull' EP)
Stomp Box
The End of The Tour
Lazyhead and Sleepybones
Where Your Eyes Don't Go
Number Three
The Famous Polka
Kiss Me Son of God
They Might Be Giants (the song, not the band )

...damn, that's too many and it still leaves off plenty of good tracks... cowtown, don't lets start, particle man, why does the sun shine?, where do they make balloons?, etc... A great band, that always gives me a smile when I hear them.

There happens to be the greatest 4 song juxtaposition in recorded history on the self-titled record:

Nothing's gonna change my clothes-- (my all time fav)
(She was a) Hotel Detective
She's an Angel
Youth Culture Killed my Dog

Also:
Alienation's for the Rich
I hope that I get old before I die
Lie still, little bottle
I've got a match
You'll miss me
Whistling in the dark
Famous Polka

Here's mine

Ana Ng
Don't Let's Start
Put Your Hand Inside The Puppet Head
Purple Toupee
Youth Culture Killed My Dog

I saw these guys at the Knitting Factory way back in NYC in 87. I think there were 40-50 people in the audience.

They came out, played like five songs, then left.

Then came back and played a full show...they were their own opening act!!!
