New Audioslave Track
Have you guys heard the new song by Audioslave? Can't remember the name but you know it's Rage Against The Machine without De La Rocha and with Cornell. I really don't care for the song, I love Rage for the music and not just the lyrics but the new song has neither a good beat or good singing. Thoughts?

I'm with you on this one. I've heard the entire cd and I'm just not impressed with it. I've tried listening to it a couple times to see if it grows on me but just doesn't do it.I don't even think Chris Cornell's voice goes good with some of the songs. Some of the other songs are fairly mellow so it he sounds good with them but I don't like the music then. I loved Rage Against the Machine, this isn't doing it for me.

the song is "Cochise (sp) The Avenger". I am sitting on the fence with this one. It has the unmistakeable RAGE guitar sound (Tom Morello ****ing rules) but it's nothing NEW for these guys.... it sounds like a song off the self titled record just revamped.... and Cornell appears to be in full Soundgarden mode, with his raspy vocals sounding as if they were ripped of Superunknown or something... so basically, this song leaves me wanting a lot more...and it just reminds me of how good these two bands were when they were on their own...combining their talents only seems to detract from the music...which is only mediocre anyhow...

The only finished track I've heard is Cochese from the radio and I thought it was great. I've been a fan of both bands for a very long time. I agree that both the music and the lyrics sound a little rehashed, but I was surprised at the scream that Cornell gets out near the end. I think I'm just glad to hear something at ALL from either of these bands hehe.

This will have to grow on me. I listened to it earlier this week. My main focus at the time was Morello. The track reminded me of how much Rage sounded like King's X on many of their tracks (which is okay, because Rage definitely took it in a different direction). The unmistakable "Rage" tone is there. I just have to get used to hearing Cornell's voice with this music. To agree with what other have posted, I believe Rage and Soundgarden were two amazing, gifted artists. I hope this new adventure proves to be just as rewarding musically speaking...

I feel like this band is trying to trick their fan base. They release a single that has the obvious Rage sound but pretty much the rest of the cd is missing it. I'm just saying if you're a huge Rage fan, listen to the cd before buying it if you can.
