Best Led Zeppelin Album?
no matter how much you wanna vote for IV because of stairway, don't unless you have heard the entire album in its entirty.
im gonna go with Led Zeppelin II since every single song on the album im are great and top notch. (btw, what is that weird little part in "whole lot of love" supposed to be (its from around 1:20 to around 3:30))
also, whats your favorite Zeppelin song, mine is "Heartbreaker" (ive never seen any one successfully complete the solo in that song) and Stairway to Heaven

All will be revealed . . .

As one of the few flat-topped would-be latter-day hippies you'll ever meet, let me chime in with my favorite tune as being: "Going To California." But my favorite whole album is "Houses of the Holy". Go figure.

This is a very hard question, it's like going to a pizza shop and being asked what your favorite topping on pizza is. There are so many good choices, each is special in its own way.
But, if I had to chose I'd go with Houses of the Holy, I love every song except for the dance number The Crunge... Sometimes I can stand it, sometimes I have to run for the skip button.

Argh! Can't decide between II and Houses of the Holy, although I love them all.
Favorite songs would have to be Since I've Been Loving You, the Rain Song, When the Levee Breaks, and here's an odd one: Fool In the Rain.

My vote goes to III. Zepp took a different, experimental turn with this album and it yielded brilliant results, IMO.
Also, if not for the music, the old LP was great in its own right for having the spinning wheel jacket.

Rypro, like I said, it's almost a toss-up for me between I and IV. I was going to go into all the great songs here, but I can't. All you need to do is buy it....for God's sake man! Go now!

On a side note, I think it's a tremendous disappointment that IV is known almost entirely as the album with Stairway to Heaven. Not only is that not even the best song on the album, it's not even on the best side of that album (back when albums had sides).

My favorite Zeppelin songs are definitely: "Trampled Underfoot", "Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You", "Ramble On" and "No Quarter"
Led Zeppelin II is probably my favorite overall album.

As a devout 80's british alternative rock fan, I am not even remotely familiar with any of Led Zeplin's material but I'm thinking of getting into them...slowly. As hardcore LD fans, what artist from the 80's brit-rock era would you compare them to? Are they hard HARD rock, or more on the softy side of things?

I don't listen to them as much as I used to, but when I do, Physical Graffiti is the album (yes album) I listen to.

I voted for IV even though it has my favorite and least favorite Zeppelin tunes:
Favorite being: When the Levee Breaks
Least Favorite: Going to California
Of course, other than Going to California, every other song is amazing.
After IV I'd have to go with Houses of the Holy or II... thats a tough call.
