1. LA has no true Hard Rock/metal station like KNAC
2. The ARROGANCE of Program Directors in terms of narrow minded thinking and catering to POPfans only.
3. Old jocks like Jim Ladd who really think I give a s#it about what he thinks about music written before '75.
4. All stations only play "ROCK AND ROLL ALL NITE" from KISS when KISS has HUNDREDS of GREAT songs from their 30 + year run...I HATE THIS!!!!!
5. Program Directors(they more or less choose what's heard) who are 50 + years old and think ARROW FRIGGIN SMITH is THE ONLY hard rock band that matters...another thing I HATE!!!
6. The fact that HOWARD STERN helped greedy companies realize people apparently WILL SIT through 15 + minutes of spots
7. One company owning everything...one company trying to take control of CONCERT VENUES with the result being some artists get played IF they "play ball" with those radio station owned venues......if they don't...well ask BRITNEY SPEARS what happens when you don't......Senators are looking into this BTW...ahem
8. Repeating artists to the point that it hurts them.
9. Request lines.....YOU'RE WASTING YOUR TIME FOLKS!!!! THEY NEVER PLAY WHAT YOU WANT UNLESS THEY WERE GOING TO PLAY IT ANYWAY OR THE SHOW WAS SET UP TO DO SO LIKE "LOVESONGS".
10. not enough Bjork...I'm serious

1. Morning shows: today I'm on my way to school and all I hear on the radio are talk shows when I want to hear some music.
2. Same sh*t... differant toilet: It seems like every station has turned into a top 40 station, I even hear rocks stations play Eminem.
God those two things annoy me so much, and because of that I rarely listen to the radio.

1. COMERCIALS!!!!!!! The incessant babble makes me want to hurt someone
2. The assenine idea that people want to hear the same songs in heavy rotation for months. Yeah, like I really want to hear the latest single from Nickleback 15 times a day
3. Playing only the singles off albums. Yeah, fine, it's probably a licensing issue, but there are SO many good songs on albums that never get played b/c they aren't on a single.
4. Editing/limiting song play times to about 5:00. Most of the music I like times in upwards of 8:00. Nothing annoys me more, for example, than to hear an 8+ minute Dream Theater song edited down to under 5 so the radio weenies will play it (cough...."Pull Me Under" cough...)

"Loveline" with Adam (arrogant holier than thou pr**k). I find this show really really annoying.
That one Jane's Addiction song they play ad nauseum on HFS.
the use of the word 'effing' on HFS, how immature.
Morning shows in general, I would seriously go postal if I had to listen to anyone of the Washington DC radio morning shows, all of them love just talking to hear themselves speak.

That more stations aren't more like Rice University's KTRU. To see what they have played today, go to:
www.ktru.org and click the setlists link. They update it as they go, so you can actually see what is being played.

i also hate this, censoring of certin songs but not of others.
example, that "just like a pill" song, all radio stations censor the word "bitch" BUT when eminem is playing the majority of the language is in there. is there a reason for this.

What annoys me the most now is that 90 percent of the stations in this country have nothing to do with the community they are based in. Playlists are made at a regional, if not national level; the playlist for a DC alternative station owned by ClearChannel will likely be exactly the same as a Philly station owned by ClearChannel.
I don't remember the last time I heard a local band played on the radio. It's sad.

I don't have any complaints about radio but then again I don't listen to FM or AM. I would have that complaint of no real rock stations in Los Angeles like KNAC but that problem is gone for me now. I have a rock station in Los Angeles but I do have to pay for it. I love my XM radio!!!!

I must admit I do listen to thsi show but I also must admit that most of the time it's nothing more than an sexcuse to talk to 15 years olds about their vaginas and pierced boobs under the banner of "Education"

1) Repitition, repitition, repitition
2) Every DJ thinks they're Howard Stern. I don't find it entertaining when stern bitches about his staff for 20 minutes, why does some local schmuck think their whining will be any different?
3) Repitition, repitition, repitition
4) Commercials with a) cell phones, or b) police sirens. I'm sorry, but if I'm driving in my car, a siren is pretty distracting, especially when the moronic radio cop is pulling over a moronic radio driver to tell them about a sale on a goddamm cheeseburger!
5) Repitition, repitition, repitition
6) Isn't there anything else to talk about in the universe besides sex and right wing politics?
7) Repi... well, you get the idea.
8) Inappropriate music. I'm not talking about dirty words or clear channels inane list of banned post 9-11 songs, but really dumb song choices. Cool or not, "Welcome to the Machine" is not a good friday afternoon, windows down, heading home from work, bring on the weekend type of song.

As far as Clear Channel goes...
A couple months ago Entertainment Weekly did an article on XM Satellite radio. They received the following reply from Steve Smith [Production Director/Imaging Director, Clear Channel]:
"Satellite radio is not the answer to good radio, much like cable TV is not the answer to good TV. Both just give you more choices of crap.
Radio is categorized, and it ought to be. Only a slim number of people would like to hear Ja Rule, Rusted Root, Barry Manilow, and Dwight Yoakam on the same station. If you are actually looking for a station that will play Norah Jones, B-Tribe, Ned Otter, etc., then look for your closest college radio station. Give them a good listen. I guarantee you that after 30 minutes of pure hell, you will switch back to a Clear Channel Radio station because we play the hits.

1) Morning Radio. I hate listening to those morons laugh at their own jokes, and hit on interns. Play music for the love of god.
2) The best station in town has incredibly poor reception. Up the signal for the love of god.
3) There are 5 country stations in my area. Five.
4) There are 3 rock stations in my area. One plays ACDC and Led Zeppelin (The same 2 or 3 songs no less) incessantly. The only new rock they play is crap like Disturbed and Drowning Pool. The other plays decent songs, but it is not uncommon for me to hear the same band twice non-consecutively in 1 hour. The third station is great, but see #2.
