The Two Towers soundtrack?
Anyone know when this is due out? I'm trying to recall right now when the soundtrack to FotR was released to get an idea.

According to Amazon, the FOTR soundtrack was released on 11/20/01. Probably around the same time, I'd imagine...

What I want to know is if the new extended cut of Fellowship of the Ring is supposed to have 30 minutes of new music...... will there be another release of the soundtrack with the new music?

I imagine there will be a 2 (3?) disc release of the complete score eventually, much like what they've done with the Phantom Menace soundtrack, among others.

It's really amazing how well the soundtrack to FOTR has sold, and it was voted #1 score of all time in a UK poll recently! 
TTT should have a soundtrack to remember, because so many new environments and characters are intro'd that Howard Shore can go theme-crazy...I can hardly wait, but will do the same 'discipline' as I did for the last movie and absolutely NOT buy the CD or listen to the score until after I see the film on 12/18.

No, later--Dec. 10. In 3 editions, each more 'deluxe/limited' than the last.
I still will not listen to it until after I see the film. 8 days of suspense is a lot easier to take than 1 month.

So there is not official date? I kind of enjoyed getting a sneak preview of sorts through the music last time.
