What music have you rediscovered lately?
I thought of this thread last night.
I have a cd case that I keep in my vehicle. It holds about 96 cd. I was in the process of going through it to get out stuff I don't really listen to much or stuff that I listen too a lot and then put in some different stuff.
Well.. that was quite an adventure. I went through my cd collection and rediscovered some stuff I haven't listened to in a long time.
Things such as the Cranberries first cd. Or the Cure's Disintregration and Wish.
So... what music have you recently rediscovered?

Hum - "You'd Prefer an Astronaut" used to be a staple in my daily listening. Somehow it faded off (I guess overplaying it), but I recently got back into it. Same thing has happened with Spiritualized - "Ladies and Gentleman We are Floating in Space."

Lush - "Split". I was watching TV and one of their songs was in a car ad. Anyways I couldn't help but to throw "Split" on and listen to it three times back to back.
I've also been playing Slowdive's "Soulvaki " lately as well.

After watching some of that VMA stuff the other night I hastily (and weirdly) had a desire for some classic rock stuff. Mostly Neil Young.

I've just been listening to Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Rapure for the first time in a long while. It's grown on me since it first came out. "Oh, Baby" is still a bit grating, but the rest of the album is great.

Deep Purple: Fireball/In Rock/Machine Head.
Jon Lord was truly the most underrated keyboard player in music. Some of the things he does on these records is positively mind-boggling. He's an amazing musician and deserves credit for his amazing musicianship. And the songs rock.

hmm... probably something no one else around here would say, but J.S. Bach.. recently downloaded a lossless compression copy of Die Kunst Der Fuge (The art of fugue) and I gotta say, that Bach still has it in him.. some of the best music ever

Lots of Sonic Youth. After I saw them live about a month ago, I've gone on a massive SY kick and have nearly tripled my SY CD collection from three to eight. Only had Daydream, Jet Set, and Washing Machine before, and now I've got those plus Confusion, Bad Moon, Sister, Goo and Dirty (I'll pick up NYC, A Thousand Leaves, and Murray Street, along with E.V.O.L., if I can find it, in the coming weeks).
Went through a Cranberries phase for a little while before that, and am going through a Flaming Lips period right now.

I also listened to The Replacements - Hootenanny yesterday for the first time in a few months. Love that album.
