IRON MAIDEN "Live After Death" DVD available!!!

Upon browsing on Fleabay the other day, I stumbled upon what appears to be an all region official Brazilian release of the infamous "Live After Death" DVD in DD 5.1

Does anyone own this who can vouch for the audio/video quality??

Well,

I had read that thread while it was in progress, but they hadn't reached the part about LAD yet. Still no one has verified if it's official yet or not.

It's not a part of Iron Maiden's releases/discography in their web-site/cataloge, therefore, it is not official, therefore, an illegal bootleg.

The same guy is selling a bunch of music DVDs, including KISS - Animalize Live and Uncensored, and Rush - A Show of Hands, both of which I know are not available legitimately on DVD.

Me too!

My guess would be that it probably won't be for a while since they are just releasing Rock-n-Rio. Since it is a bootleg, per the rules, I shall discuss it no longer.

I'd much rather have a "Live After Death" DVD than "Rock in Rio."

LAD is just such a classic that I can't believe it's not being released. Maiden at their loud, bombastic best at their creative peak.

I'd also like to see "10 Wasted Years" released, too. And maybe a collection of their videos.

Concerning legality of Live After Death DVD

I have read the closed thread about the Iron Maiden 'Live After Death' DVD and the legality issue some are saying is nothing more than a bootleg.
I have stated in the RIR thread about buying one and also posted quotes from the auction and website itself on this issue.
Here is what I put...........

We have offices in the US (Shorewood, MN) giving you the maximum reliability and confidence!

- We have a LOW PRICE on this in-stock DVD, and this is the legal DVD released with original cover and all the extras and features it is supposed to have

CDBrazil is an eBay POWERSELLER, a title granted only to a handful of companies on eBay due to the quality of the products we sell and also because we always keep our business and respect to the customers in a top level!

Comes from the studio which has the rights on this title directly to our offices and it is an original DVD. We do not deal with bootlegs, copies of vcd's

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING THIS DVD

Dear eBayer, we at CDBrazil would like you to bear in mind that this is an ORIGINAL DVD, COMING FROM THE STUDIO IN BRAZIL DIRECTLY TO OUR COMPANY.

This DVD of ours carries ALL THE FEATURES OF THIS TITLE. BE AWARE THAT THERE ARE OTHER CHEAP RELEASES IN BRAZIL WHICH DO NOT BRING ALL THESE FEATURES - WE DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE "SECOND CLASS" RELEASES, ONLY THE ORIGINAL AND COMPLETE ONES. THIS IS NOT A BOOTLEG DVD OR A VCD. IT IS A FULLY ORIGINAL DVD WITH ALL THE EXTRAS IT IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE.

CDBrazil IS NOT the same as any other seller on eBay with a name similar to ours. We at CDBrazil are serious DVD and CD dealers for years (since 1996), with offices both in Brazil and the US and we have the products supplied directly from the studio in Brazil to our company.

WE ONLY SELL OFFICIAL DVD'S, NO BOOTLEGS OR THE ONES POORLY RELEASED THROUGH OTHER SOURCES TO ALTERNATE CHANNELS.

I do not think they could be EBAY POWER SELLERS if they sold bootlegs.
Mods, you may close if you want, just wanted to give a heads up on the issue and let people know they can buy this item without fear of being labeled as a bootlegger.
I bought one and sent my money order off to FESTIVAL FILMS - SHOREWOOD,MN

CDBrazil DVDs and here is the offiial site for FESTIVAL FILMS who has been in business for over 30yrs.

I sure hope it's official and of excellent quality. I can't imagine how good that concert must sound in 5.1. Let us know how it is!!!

You need to read more than just a few posts.
It is an OFFICIAL Brazilian release.
If you read the many threads on it,most people are just complaining about the quality of it considering it is an officially licensed release.
Released officially in Brazil under license of EMI

Unless you have found a post clearly stating it is a bootleg, because I did not find any such statement

Reading between the lines, it looks as if this may at one stage have been a legitimate release linked to a magazine. I would guess that any license would have limited the number of units and the time during which they could legitimately be distributed by the magazine company.

I find the CDBrazil information quoted above to be somewhat ambiguous: a publication may itself be legit but that does not necessarily mean that a vendor has a right to copy or to sell it. There is some doubt as to what is the case here in my opinion.

I am also not especially happy about a new thread being started in order to carry on a discussion from a closed thread.... I've now merged the two anyway.

We don't need any winks and nudges here: Geoff has prohibited bootleg discussions and there is a well-read sticky atop page one. Members have been suspended for breaching the rule.

When in doubt about the rules or a closure please email a moderator.

I am now closing the thread. I have also emailed Sanctuary to see if they have any thoughts on the CDBrazil release. If they reply and say all is OK then I'll repost here what they say. Likewise if they state the DVD is not licensed.

Thanks to woofman who - three weeks ago - emailed me about some further information on the official Maiden site concerning the DVD in question.
Iron Maiden.com have been aware of the existence of a DVD featuring Iron Maiden's Live After Death video from a Brazilian company called Editora D+T Ltda that is available for sale on a number of online music sites around the world.

Iron Maiden.com would like to make all our users aware that this is NOT an endorsed product and it is neither officially licensed or of a high quality.

Many of you have been asking for DVD's of all the original Iron Maiden video releases and these will be made in the future when time allows the creative input from the band themselves to ensure the highest audio and picture quality possible.

We have received and examined examples of the 'pirate' version of Live After Death from D+T Editora Ltda and found this to be an inferior product and recommend that you do not purchase it. The 5.1 sound is not mixed 5.1 sound at all and the whole package is a cheap rip off and waste of your money. We are also currently seeking legal action to have this product removed from the general market place.
The above is for information only: I'm keeping this locked because bootleg discussions remain verboten hereabouts.
