Austin City Limits Festival
Looks like I might be making a trip to Texas this September. On September 28th and 29th, Austin City Limits is throwing its first music festival. Some of the artists currently confirmed on the lineup...
Wilco
Ryan Adams
Emmylou Harris
The Jayhawks
The String Cheese Incident
Karl Denson's Tiny Universe
G. Love and Special Sauce
Nickel Creek
Particle
Robert Randolph and the Family Band
Asleep at the Wheel
Gillian Welch
Kelly Willis
Soulive
Sound Tribe Sector 9
Luna
The Derailers
The New Deal
Jimmie Vaughn
...and many more to be announced.
My two favorite music genres are jamband music and alt-country/Americana, so this is pretty much a dream lineup for me. Anyone else heard anything about this or thinking about going?

I've never used that smilie before, but this definitely merits it. (Ponders visit to family in Austin, wonders if it can be called "visit" if entire time is spent at concert venue.)
Now I know why I occasionally miss Austin.

Best part about the festival...I just checked ticket prices.
$35 for both days.
That's cheaper than you'd pay to see most concerts, let alone a festival of this calibur.

I'm there. Only 2 hours away and most of these acts are awesome live...especially Wilco, The Jayhawks, and Emmylou Harris. Gotta love Ryan Adams as well.

Wow. That is simply incredible. Austin is such a great place. I emailed the people who put together the big fest in Atlanta to complain like crazy when last years lineup was bonehead rock and nothing like what you just listed.

I so want to go to this!!!!!!!!
This is going to be so awesome!
