A Music Talk competition for the month of July

We just had a little contest on Book Talk. There weren't so many entries but I thought it might be fun to start one here, also.

So, assuming any interest, here is how it will work. The prizes will be awarded for best Music Talk posts during the month of July fulfilling the following criteria:
 • The posted article should concern an artist(e)-related topic - be it an appreciation of a particular band/gig/cd/career
 • When selecting your band/artist(e), let it be from the field of Rock Music and relating to the period 1965-1995
 • The post is to comprise at least 300 words of original material; have at least three relevant URLs and three pictures (or non-VBB, non-smiley-type graphics)
 • It should not be something that has been "done to death" already i.e. if there is a thread on the band already starting/finishing this year then it would need to be an extra special/original article to be a winner (do a search!) Obscurity of subject matter gets extra credit
 • Please include a link to the thread in which your post was made but also repost the article here so they can all be seen together in one place.
There will be at least three prizes if the contest runs the full month. If it looks to have died a death by July 10th I reserve the right to close it down at that time and select a single "winner" from whatever entries have been posted. Each prize will be a CD of my own selection for the author of each winning post. [I may add further clarifications as and when required].

Benedict
[Edited to reduce minimum wordcount and make things more all-round "three-ish" ]

Should we make our entries in this thread?

Per the final bulletpoint, yes, please repost your original article(s) here so that I can see "them" in one place

As it happens, I was thinking that perhaps this looked like too much of a dumb idea to posters generally and was going to close it down midnight GMT on July 10th in line with my final paragraph.... so this might be an easy contest to judge and win!

Well I was going to post about the extremely cliquish Nashville music scene and how hard it is for someone that doesn't fit the EXACT Nashville sound to make it, but there is no way I have enough time to do it by July 10.

Sounds good palebluedot, if/when Real Life commitments allow you time to let the muses take over

Response is underwhelming so far, as I feared so, I think what I'll do is leave this open and just amend the rules such that there is only the one prize if entries are below six in number and the additional two will only come into play if/when entries hit 6 and 12.

Although, as eventual judge, I was loathe to do any nominating myself I may cut and paste some likely prospects if the mood takes me during the coming weeks....
