Jimmy Buffett Appreciation Thread and Concert Items

I've been going to JB shows for 12 years now, and I'm constantly amazed at his shows. Not only does he provide a nice balance between the "Songs You Know By Heart" and his other material, but also for all the drunken-ness I've never seen any bouts of rowdiness. The crowd is always easy going and personable.

This year we attended the Cincinnati show. First Corona opened at 9:30, and hit the field lot by 1:00. Beautiful day, 83 and sunny. Met up with someone who travelled from New Hampshire, drank, ate, and mingled till showtime, danced & sang for 2.5 hours, then stumbled exhausted back to the car. Returned to hotel, waited for pizza, and in bed by 1:00.

Great show, but then again I'm always a little fuzzy on the details

Favorites from the show:

The Weather Is Here, I Wish You Were Beautiful
Come Monday
Boat Drinks
Last Man Standing
Son Of A Son Of A Sailor
One Particular Harbour
Far Side Of The World
Savannah Fare You Well
A Pirate Looks at 40
Paradise (John Prine cover)
Southern Cross
Changes In Latitudes, Changes In Attitudes

How can one long ass day go by so quickly?

Anyone else go to the show, or seeing him sometime this summer? I've also seen him at Pine Knob (MI), Buckeye Lake (OH), Milwaukee, Atlanta, and Starlake (PA). Buckeye Lake was always the best. Cincy of course has the tradition behind it, and never disappoints.

I live in Australia, LOVE Buffet (even though my mates laugh at me) and I have never seen him live, nor ever probably will. I am so envious. I have a lot of his CDs and can't get enough. I have no Buffett friends either, except on the net..so YAY! Buffett is King.

He's here tonight and Saturday and I'm not going for only the second time in 8 years . Every penny we have is going towards the down payment on our house, so I guess it's worth it.

Next year I'm there for sure.

What he really needs is a DVD in 5.1 that's about 5 hours long, a mix of concert and parking lot footage.

I'll be seeing him for the second year in a row this September and it can't come soon enough.

How's the Chicago show typically? When we went to Milwaukee, it was based on info that the tailgating was better there than Chicago. Was that just an ugly rumor? He always plays two shows there, so I would think it would be a great environment.

That DVD idea would be sweeet!

Well I don't know - I've never been to a Milwaukee show, but I've had a blast at the Chicago shows.

Wisconsin people always think they're better than us Illinoisans
