Outlaw Golf help needed

Ok, picked up outlaw golf last night, and it is definately a greatly balanced game. Great balance between golf and arcade.

Questions:
1. What is the secret to putting?
2. Any good tips on driving the ball? I always hit at max 223 yds
3. Shot placement. I always manage to hit the green and go flying off of it. Any tips on ball controll
4. when do the items become available, clubs, players, balls..etc?
5. Any other tips would be great too, because I know that I missed a lot of things.

1. The secrect to putting is take notice of the power percentage. If it says 50% to get it in the cup hit it 51%. I always add a little bit. Also use the X button on the controller it shows you the where the ball will go. You only have 3 uses per shot. The white button brings up the grid to see the lay of the land.

2. You won't hit the ball any farther until you power your player up in the practive range. You also need to unlock clubs and balls for greater distance.

3. Use the right thumbstick to hit lower on the ball to give it more backspin. Always use the white button to see the lay of the land. Red is high ground and blue is low. When you get close to the hole and your using your SW or PW hit X and the bar will turn green so you hit the ball softer.

4. To unlock items you have to play in tour and say beat Doc Digler in Rough Riders and you get Cincinnati Balls and anther game type.

KegMan,

Thank you greatly for the insight. One other question, is that I tried to beat the long ball on the driving range, and have found that it is impossible to beat that unless I hit 220 on every shot. Do i need to do the putting first to get bigger clubs, or power up the player?
Also, I thought the Power% meant even hitting full you will hit that power amount.

The % means if you hit it that hard that's where it will land. THe power bar is quartered. So if you need to hit it 55% you have hit it right above the middle line.

I was able to beat it with Harley the way she is. But you can beat the put and power up each users distance. Or if you beat Rough Riders you get new balls that will allow you to hit the ball further.

One more thing when you hit B it will zoom in to where the ball is going to land. The left and right trigger also zoom in and out.

If you press in on the right thumbstick. You will be able to move the camera around.

On long approach shots I move the left control so I'm hitting 100% and then use backspin so I hit the green where I want - it's easiest to hit a 100% shot. On many shots you will have to hit in front of the green and roll on.

I didn't beat the driving challenge until I won a putting contest and increased my power rating. I like the chipping challenge into the half-barrels - that is a fun one.

My only complaint about the game is when I hit a great 2nd shot on a par 5 and my ball rolls through the green 1" too far I get penalized on the meter but if I leave it short on a par 4 I don't get penalized.
