Best game of the first half of 2002?

The years half over, what's your pick for the best game so far?

My pick is easily Resident Evil.

Simply a great game. Great graphics and sound, great atmosphere and gameplay. Just finished it for the first time, and plan on playing it through at least twice more to open up the extra modes.

Runners up:

NBA 2K2 and NBA Street, both for the Gamecube. These are the only other 2002 releases I've bought and they are both outstanding. Takes care of my basketball fix this generation.

By far Resident Evil. NBA 2K2 would be the runner-up in this case...

Isn't it premature to be picking the best game of the first half of 2002 before June is actually over?

For instance, what if Eternal Darkness turns out to be better than Resident Evil?

I suspect Josh miscalculated.

People can always update their post . I'd be shocked if ED was better than RE, and I have it Pre-bought. The only other game worth mentioning coming out this month (as far as I know) is Medal of Honor Frontline, which is already out.

I suppose he wants us to say what we think the best game will be after all is said and done, even if it's a game that isn't out just yet. So, for instance, if we think ED will be better than RE, we would pick ED.

My fingers are crossed for Morrowind.

BTW, shouldn't this be a poll?

Resident Evil!!

Playing late at night with the volume pumped up is an incredible experience! The graphics were so realistic and moody it created the perfect atmosphere. And watching my friends jump out of their seats when a zombie comes crashing in through the window was priceless

Finally got Tactics Orge and its by far my favorite handheld game so far.

Console is a tough choice. I like Resident Evil and Medal of Honor about equally. I guess I give the edge to Resident Evil though.

I too will say Resident Evil. The graphics are incredible and since they added completely new areas and totally rearranged some things, it felt like a new game to me and not a remake. Any game that can make me nervous about what is behind the next door is a winner in my book.

If we're talking every game...Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. If we're talking video games only I wish to wait for June's offerings to come out before deciding. And my choice will definitely NOT be Resident Evil. Yes, it is vastly improved, but it is still a type of game I am not fond of.

Jedi Knight II is a fine pick. PC games can definitely be included.

This is probably a bit premature since I've only just got the game but Morrowind (from what I've seen so far) is outstanding. Jedi Knight II is also up there.

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault (it was released this year, yes?). This may change in 3 days when Wipeout Fusion is (hopefully) released.
