I saw this mentioned in another thread and am intrigued. Wanted to get a review of the mini series, it looks like a good set. How is the series? Is it faithful to the book?

Is the case a double alpha or a cast away type case?

I don't own the DVD but I've seen it on tv. It's an outstanding mini-series (the most watched series in the history of french tv). Gerard Depardieu is sublime as the lead character, as he normally is when playing historical characters. I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Very well done,well acted, but Depardieu's makeup when doing his different disguises is pretty laughable and distracting. Mine came in a double case. It had been years since I read the book,but it seemed faithful to the story.
