How good of a DVD is this movie? Special Features etc? How good of a plot does it have?Worth a purchase?

I haven't seen this, but I have some friends who rented it just to see the "hot guys," (they're opinion, not mine), and not even they got through it.

That is, if we're talking the same movie--the one with Jeff Bridges and Scott Wolf.

I don't know if the above opinion means anything, but they didn't enjoy it. They found no redeeming plot, etc. I think one of them said it dragged.

Here's a review from Roger Ebert if you think he has the same taste in movies as you do. He gave White Squall 3 stars.

I think the movie is real good. However, the current DVD is not. I would not purchase this disc, but wait for a rerelease if and when it will ever happen, I don't know.

What do you think is not good about the disc?

I loved this movie. My opinion my be a little biased since I grew up on the water, and lived on an island for four years. At the very least rent it. As Laertes pointed out, women may not like it because it definitely is a guy movie. The only bad part about this disc is that it is not anamorphic. It has been a little while since I watched the disc, but I don't remember the transfer being that bad. The sound is awesome. It is one of my best demo discs. The chapter entitled white squall is unbelieveable. If you do not have a wide screen tv, or if you don't plan on buying one anytime soon, I would purchase the disc. Disney probably will not be reissuing this disc anytime soon.

I thought it was a good movie but in terms of rewatchability I'd say no. Good rent though.
