Well I was at that Smackdown and they have a little X-box blimp inside the building with cameras attached that they were flying around before the event started. I guess Microsoft is paying to promote their system.

Marketing..
call it selling out if you want.. But if you ever noticed, wrestling is all about selling out.
You throw a fight in order to get paid..
and like marketting is so new in wrestling...
Xbox has RAW IS WAR.. thats what microsoft advertises with them.. so where the money is.. thats where vince will be. nuff said.
anyone notice other products.. such as certain green energy drinks??
its marketting.. your in the U.S... get used to it.
Also.. look down. You are advertising underwear, brand names on your shirt.. even your shoes.. so why is this new? or shocking for that matter?

MS Xbox is the main sponsor of the upcoming WWF pay per view show. MS paid big bucks to have Xbox plastered all over the screen (including shirts, hats, etc. worn my wrestlers) during the WWF shows.
Every month there is a different sponsor for the WWF. A few months back it was Nintendo...

If you didn't know, wrestling's ratings have been plummeting. I'm willing to bet you that WWF's offer for the advertising spot guaranteed ratings of a certain number. Usually when you don't deliver the ratings as promised you give more commercial spots in the future, but since WWF is a corporate entity and not a network, they can't offer that. You can be sure that in exchange for lesser ratings, the WWF offered more impressions (a common practice in marketing/advertising).
To sum this up, Microsoft is getting mentioned more in exchange for less total people seeing their advertisements.
Example:
Promised Rating: 4.0. That would mean that 4% of all television households (approximately 100 million households, meaning 4,000,000 households watching the show).
Actual Rating: 3.2. There's a difference of 800,000 households or 80% of promised rating.
You should expect about a 30% increase in Xbox mentions because of that. Remember, the WWF doesn't want to piss of Microsoft, or give future possible advertisers something to worry about, so it's very likely they would overcompensate Microsoft.
(Note: These numbers are just estimates. I could do a little more research on promised versus actual, but I feel this enough for any non-Marketing/Advertising person to understand. The numbers are pretty close though, from what I've seen over the past few months.)
