The XBox is a bit more powerful than the GF3. Unless you have a GF3 in your PC, I would wait for the XBox version to get the full effects of Max Payne. Max Payne is a bit of a hardware and graphics whore, which is bad if you have a older PC like me.

As for concrete details on the Xbox version and how it will compare to the PC version, nobody knows as of yet. Wait till the 15th and the reviews will be rolling in by then.

Here is a preview of MP over at TeamXBox to get you going:

Unless there's new levels or more gameplay somehow, I don't see why anyone would wait for Xbox. If your PC can play it with all the settings at full, then the Xbox isn't going to look that much better. For FPS games, I'd take 1024x768 resolution and a keyboard/mouse combo over NTSC and gamepad any day.

The graphics chip in the X-Box is a GF3, so it's not "more powerful" than it.

I would suggest the PC version. There will be patches and mods for it and perhaps add-on levels. Xbox won't have that. Plus - there's a first-person mod for it on PC. With your specs, it'll play great.

I didn't know this game was coming out for X-Box but I own the PC version and love it so I thought I'd help out. It runs super smooth on my P3-700 with 256 MB ram and a Voodoo 3.

My other system is a P2-450 running at 128MB RAM and a Voodoo 3 as well and it runs fine on that too.

If the Xbox doesn't have a mouse peripheral then I'd say get the PC version because the controls make the game and with the mouse its swweeet! When you go into a bullet time dive, even though everything is slowed down you need to aim VERY fast and a mouse is extremely helpful. It plays much like an FPS sort of, with a few twists.

There are also some cool mods out like a Matrix themed MOD, and a nifty James Bond one as well, even a Blade Runner one. Fun things to do after you've beaten the game. You can find it for around $30 or less now at some stores.
