Video Card Question for you PC gamers

So im searching for a new video card and I had a question about the manufacturers of the card.
Example: Im looking at a GeForce3 or 2 TI and I see that there are alot several makers of cards out there (PNY, VISIONTEK, Leadtek, and others I have never heard). Is there one better than the other? Is there a card maker that I should steer away from?
Price on each type varies pending TV out or other features, but essentially the card has the same graphic engine. Also the prices from one maker is small from another.

Thoughts as to which company is the best? Love to hear your experiences.

I'm not as familiar with the newer ones, but a site worth checking out for all basic PC hardware needs (should be some good forums there too, but it's been awhile since I last visited), is Tom's Hardware. The folks there should be able to clear up most questions you have.

Things like GeForce and TNT are chipsets. Different card makers get licenses to use these chipsets in their cards. Different amounts of memory, different methods of manufacturing, and different features and all factors between them.

go to anandtech.com then look for reviews. Also look in the forums(my community I think on the top) also try our very own pc forum here at dvdtalk.

first question- how much do you want to spend? do you want the best no money limitations or the best card for $100 or the best overall value under 200...

the more information the better.

I run a GTS 32 MB Nvidia card that works fine for me( I do overclock it a bit ). It does everything I want. The resolution you will be running it in and the monitor brand and size will help also.
