I'm considering getting one for RPGs (primarily the Shining series).

Total for the system and Shining Wisdom is $45. Should I go for it? Tell me your impressions of the console.

I love my Saturn. I'm not familiar with Shining Wisdom. Is it part of the Shining Force Series? Check Ebay before buying anything, but I think Saturn is a great system that just didn't have enough support, due to the programming difficulty. And did you know that it was actually a better performing system than the Playstation....dare I mention the ability to swap characters during play in X-men vs. Street Fighter. Playstation version sucked!!

Thats a good deal. I have a US black and a Japanese Skeleton Black model. Shining Wisdom is not the best RPG on the system though. Try to get Panzer Dragoon Saga, Dragon Force, Shining Force III, Shining in the Holy Ark, and Magic Knight Rayearth.

I have a Saturn. I paid about $200 and I got the system, Nights, XMAS Nights, Burning Rnagers, Shining3, Magic Knight, a Action Replay Plus, Radiant Silvergun, Fire Pro G, and a few others. I sold EVERYTHING on eBay except my system and two NiGHTS games. I made about a $300 profit. Not too bad.

I love my Saturn, if only for NiGHTS and xMas NiGHTS

I had one ,Panzer Dragoon Saga & NiGHTS are definately worth it. I can't remember the name but Saturn had the only baseball game on a console I liked , even today.Nice price , I kind of wish I still had mine.

Shining Wisdom is not part of the force series, and it is only a mild throw in not a terrible game, but if you pick up another rpg you will never play wisdom again.

Well, I decided to go ahead and get it.

I'm mainly getting it because I'm a big Shining Force fan. Shining Force II was the first "traditional" RPG I played and holds some nostalgic value for me (years later I finally got to play through Shining Force I). I've been addicted to RPGs (of all kinds) ever since. I was planning on buying Shining Force III, Shining the Holy Ark, and Shining Wisdom, just to see where the story went, but all the suggestions listed here I have seen before and will take into careful consideration.

p.s. I just found out they made a Phantasy Star Collection (with Phantasy Star 1-4) for the Saturn... but it never made it over here (just like Shining Force III Scenario 2 and 3). I guess I'll just have to stick to my emulators...

This may sound stupid, but one of the things I loved about Saturn (over Playstation) was the controller. Much better design and more usable that the PS controllers.

I too like the controllers especially for fighting games(which many own this system for fighting games only). i have castlevania X and am loving the fact that I picked up a Saturn again.

i miss panzer dragoon saga so much - it was such a cool game. it's really a shame that the dreamcast never got an updated version.
