I have a gc that I need to use and was going to get either Sanjuro, Yojimbo, or Wages of Fear (Criterions) and noticed that they are asking $29.99 for each of these titles even though the MSRP is $29.95, only 4 cents but that's not the point. So I wrote CS twice with no answer and I finally called them today and spoke to some clueless guy who didn't know what to do and said somebody would look into it and get back to me. About an hour later I get an email reply stating, "The prices on the site are correct. We can not adjust them. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance." Uhhh...

Sure, it is only a mere 4 cents, but they are clearly charging more and now they know it but aren't willing to change it. Places like that are just unbelievable to me. Absolutely ridiculous. After all that, I still don't know what to buy.

Yes, Bigstar's prices are among the worst, if not the worst, around.

But you somehow came across a gift certificate and want to use it...

Do this:
(1) go to: http://www.dvdpricesearch.com
(2) go to: "power search" (at the top somewhere)
(3) on the power search, there will be a lot of variables. Go to the MSRP Box, "At least (blank)% off MSRP", enter 50% or whatever.
(4) Go to stores and choose "Bigstar".
(5) Hit the search button.

(Or, leave the MSRP box blank, go to "Studios" and select "criterion". Or use a percent off MSRP and criterion.)

You will be given a list of 126 titles that Bigstar carries that are supposedly 50% off. You will find *something* that you like, though there are not any Criterions on the list.

If you really want to buy Sanjuro, Yojimbo, or Wages of Fear, either bite the bullet and buy at inflated prices at Bigstar, or go to Tower Records ( http://www.towerrecords.com ), which has Sanjuro and Wages of Fear for $22.99 and Yojimbo for $21.99, plus a $10 off $50 coupon (DSHCTEN8) (I used it a few hours ago, it is still active).

Just remember the "S" in MSRP stands for SUGGESTED not required
