Have an estimate

tot up the costs of all consoles, games and accessories

don't include PCs though, PC games yes but a PC wouldn't be used just for gaming

Not including pc and games.....easily well over $10,000.....

This would include systems and games dating back to the eighties.

I've probably spent in the ballpark of 20k... maybe more.

I've bought every major system since Pong, with all the popular titles for each. Pong, 2600, Intellivision, 5200, Colecovision, Vectrex, NES, 7800, Master System, GB, TG-16/TurboDuo, Genesis/Sega CD, SNES, 3DO, Jaguar, NeoGeoCD, Saturn, GBC, Virtual Boy, PSX, N64, DC, PS2, GBA.
Maybe a couple others.

I still have everything, and even the relics are fairly organized: a stash of VCS systems and games in one closet, a drawer full of Intellivision, etc.

My main 'hobby' for the last 25 years or so, so the $$ averages out over a lot of years.

The scarier question is how much time I've spent playing.

hmm

All of my major video game purchases in the last 14 years

NES~$200
about 60 games@ $40 bucks a pop=$2400
2 extra controllers~$40
powerpad~$60

SNES~$200
about 15 games@$40=$600
extra controller $30

Genesis~$150
about 10 games@$40=$400
extra controller~$20

Nintendo 64~$250
about 15 games@$60=900
3 extra controllers@25=$75

PSX1~$150
about 15 games @ $30=450
extra controller~30

Virtual boy and 10 games~$50

Gameboy~$140
40 games@ $30s=1200

Gameboy color~$100
10 games @$35

Gamegear~150
5 games @ $30=150

If I didnt miss anything that comes out to about 7000 dollars. But that is just for console games, im not sure about computer game purchases. Though id estimate ive probably spent well over $2000 in software and $10,000 in hardware bringing my estimated gaming grand total to $19,000. Scary thought.

Hmmm, this is a tough one. Mine is mostly consoles and games, so you figure new consoles at first release are $200-$400, games are usually $40-60, man that adds up doesn't it!?

I would conservatively say $5000-$6000. Edit: I actuality tried to calculate this out, and it's probably closer to $10,000. Good grief!

I would guess somewhere around $20,000. I have resold many games in the past so its tough to get a real close guess.

Nes-$200
35 games-$1,400

Genesis-$149
15 games-$600

Super Nes-$200
20 games-$1000

Sega CD-$219
10 games-$400

Panasonic 3DO-$499
10 games-$500

Playstation-$199
27 games-$1,215
