I don't know anything about them myself, but I received an advertisement from another electronics store here in California that was bought out by them, and is changing their name to Tweeter. Obviously it looks like they are trying to open a bunch of new stores across the country. I would imagine they are going to try to compete with other stores like Circuit City and Bestbuy.

I believe that Tweeter sells high end audio/video products. They don't sell low end items in an attempt to compete with BB and CC. They advertise that they will not be undersold, this is because none of the B&M chains carry the same higher priced product line.

Michael, sorry can't help you out. They opened one where I live a few months ago, but I've never been there.
I was wondering if you knew where they're building it in Albany. I haven't heard about it. (I go to SUNY Albany, BTW). Thanks.

Yeah I noticed that they were putting this up about 2 months ago in Crossgates Commons.
I just recognized the name from "Tweeter Center" in Boston.
I'm looking forward to it to compare the high end stuff.]
Not many options for that around here in Albany.
Hippo's has some nice stuff but that's about it.

It's a nice place to go and look around but their prices are way out of line. I bought my Toshiba SD6200 DVD player online for $150 less than the price they had it for.

you have to "dicker" with them there. I bought a Toshiba TN5x81 from them about a year ago and got it for $900 less than the price they had in the store. It is all higher end stuff, some of which is pretty nice, plus they know about the products they are selling. Big difference from BB or CC. Only bad thing is it's like a car buying experience, you fight with them to get a good price and if that's not good enough for you they always add a little sales "pressure".
