Wow, DailyRadar.com is dead. It's a sad, sad day. It was one of my favorite sites. Anyone have any suggestions as to where I can waste my time surfing now?

Damn, I can't make fun of DailyRadar any more. Anyway, you probably already know this but check out http://www.ign.com

Can't say I'm going to shed a tear at DailyRadar's demise. Nope, not at all...

Wow, first PC Accelerator (magazine) died, some of crews moved to DailyRadar.com and now it's dead. What a bad luck for those crews.

Shoot. I hope NextGen magazine will still continue to print. I thought it was a fairly good magazine that was worth skimming through.

NextGen remains my favorite gaming mag, and DailyRadar was a pretty damn good site. The "Direct Hit" section was often pretty funny. They'll be missed.

I'm gonna miss the porn reviews!!!!

I used to visit DR and IGN everyday. Now DR is gone and IGN is moving all their good stuff to their pay to surf plan.

Sucks!!

I'll miss them a lot. Having two reviews on a game release date (IGN & Daily Radar) is always better than just one. With all the gaming mags sealing themselves in plastic wrap, where are we supposed to read any game reviews.

They put a lot of stuff in their new "IGN Insider" section, which is subscription only. Very lame!

I wrote IGN a letter saying I wanted to be an Outsider. I also told them that if they are stooping to such things they should just pack up and shut down. Fact is they will only get a small number of people to subscribe and then down the line they will say something like, "You must subscribe or this site is going to go down" and that will be the end of IGN/Snowball.

Snowball is in serious financial difficulty and are in danger of being de-listed from NASDAQ. IGN Wrestling has already gotten the axe, do not be surprised if other IGN sites go onto the chopping block as well.

I will be more sympathetic with IGN than I am with DR when it goes down. Although I read DR, I really hated the way they went about things and I hope certain writers got their ass kicked to the curb from it.

I enjoyed DailyRadar just as another viewpoint on the games I'm interested in buying. Often their opinions would differ quite markedly from other sites which was a good thing IMO. Pity about IGNs new pay for content system..

Ever since the lack of confidence in the Net sector started, income has plummeted from ads. Now ads yield very little. Why "stooping?" They are trying to stay in business by adhering to a sound business model. Do you like the content? Then why not subscribe? Basically what you're saying is that you want it for free, no matter what, not even if they shut down. That sounds selfish. You pay for magazine subscriptions, I don't see what's so different...

Edit: Just to add, I just checked and the yearly subscription price IS comparable to a magazine subscription.

Difference is I already pay 40+ bux a month for cable and I do my part by clicking all their banners they got flying around b/c it's relatively quick and easy for me. Plus, I subscribe to one gaming magazine already. The 'net is huge, tho i will miss IGN if it starts charging for full content, i won't have a problem relocating).

http://dailyradar.co.uk/ is also still around. They're not quite up to date with all the US releases (well they are in the UK) but they do offer some good video game news.

Thanks...I will keep this in my favorite places to check on from time to time.

IGN can kiss my butt.....I wonder if they will still email their subscribers with the newsletter or if that is going to end also????

Okay, start your own website and see how long you can make it last with no income.

You might be clicking on all the ads, but hardly anyone does that anymore. So they say "Hey, you come here every day and like our stuff, could you pay a little for it?" It's really not that much money for the content. It's like a different magazine every day, isn't it?

I've got no problems paying it if it keeps the site around.

I'm sad to see it go also. I didn't really use the site for gaming news but one I used to go to was http://www.gamespot.com.

The problem I have with paying for web content is that there aren't too many things that are exclusive on the net.

I'm not about to cough up money to read a preview of Sonic Adventure 2 or Outrigger.

You can find the stuff quite readily on many other sites.

Plus, I can't really take advantage of everything the site(or most sites for that matter) has to offer, e.g. streaming content, since I'm on a crappy dial-up and have no broadband option available to me where I live.

It's sad that a lot of sites are closing up shop, but someone that's the way it is I guess.

the easiest place to find game reviews -- which I'll normally use is http://www.bluesnews.com . They have a daily list of all the games that have been reviewed by a whole host of different sites.
