Ok, I used to play this game in the mid to late 80's IIRC. It involved a Robot that could turn into a jet kinda like the Transformer Jetfire or the Macross plane and you would start off as the robot running and shooting various targets, and then transform into the plane. It's not Macross or Macross II. Any ideas?

Hrmm, I think I might have found it. It may be Aeroboto/Formation Z but I can't find any websites with pictures on it and my Mame versions aren't working properly

Arcadeathome.com has a pretty extensive screenshot collection you could look through. They have one called Form. Z, but it didn't look right.

It sounds like Thexder or Thexder II. In the first Thexder all you had was a laser, but in the second one you could change weapons to homing missiles and other items.

The screenshots of Aeroboto/Formation Z, the color is way off so I can't tell if its right or not. The only shots I see of Thexder are the pc version and that doesn't look right either They need a damn up to date site with every game ever released
