Just to confirm speedy, those are Volumes 1 and 2 for sale, at least if those are the pictures. However, I suspect that the picture of Volume 1 you have there is probably not the one they have for sale (although I could be wrong). When it first came out, it came with a Rubber Tire Slipcover, but that was limited quanities. Now they have 'em without it, which is probably the case with Circuit City.

Speedy, boy oh boy, is your name aptly titled. You are awesome. Does anyone know if The Golden Compass is worth it for $10 with the USA Today coupon? I had a free ticket to go see it, but never got around to it. Besides the cast, it just looks generic. Nothing else for me this week though, will be too busy with finals and GTA.

I think the only Memorex DLs out now are 8x- I bought 2 packs at Office Depot a few months ago when they were $1 a disc, this time they'll be even cheaper but their discs are very hit-or-miss. I made coasters with most of the first pack, but then I updated the firmware on my LG drive and they've been working OK since then. I wouldn't use these for storing anything incredibly important or irreplaceable. With the bad rap Memorex gets though, I've still had worse luck with TDK, Fuji and Playo discs than Memorex. Verbatims are still the best but they're usually pricey and aren't carried everywhere.

Those discs might be more reliable than the 8x ones I got at Office Depot- you still have to make sure your drive's firmware is up to date, but I've had fewer problems with them and they play easily in my older player too.
