These weekly threads are for the posting and discussion of that particular week's store exclusives and freebies.

These lists will likely be incomplete until Thursday or so, since DVDs are released on Tuesday and one of us needs to visit all the stores to confirm things.

Volunteers needed: I regularly go to Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, and Walmart; but don't visit the other stores every week. If you work at or regularly go to the FYE/TWEC chains, Costco, Borders, K-mart/Sears, Barnes and Noble, Blockbuster, Hot Topic, or any other store that has DVD exclusives; I'd appreciate any updates you could give us.

I went to 3 different Best Buys in the Boston area on Sunday (after seeing the flyer) and NONE of them had the on-pack Aquaman disc. Tons of S1-5 sets. Small signs on the shelf talking about Aquaman. But no Aquaman.

Sales reps have the usual speech about "limited quantities". But, given how early I visited these stores, I'm 100% certain they never got any.


Anyone have better luck?

free with pre order or with purchase, most stores should have gotten at least ten sets.

I think some stores just might have not even received them yet. The store I went to early Sunday morning, they had copies of the older sets already on display. I had to ask them to check for the sets with the disc on-pack. They actually went into the back and brought out a whole box with different seasons w/ the disc. Since it's holiday season, maybe they have big shipments of DVDs and don't get the chance to open all the boxes right away? Dunno... but since the pricing goes on until Saturday, I'd probably check in later in the week to see if they got more shipments/put more out to replace stock that's been selling through the week

Are the beanies from Wal-Mart with Widescreen copies of Shrek the Third, or are they all Fullscreen?

Just wondering if its worth my time to go to Wal-Mart or not.

Not dvd related but Borders has an exclusive bonus cd with 2 tracks on the new Greatest Hits cd by David Gray.

I saw (and bought) it at Target. It was stocked at the end of their long aisle of DVD's near the new release end cap, whereas the old Special Edition was stocked in one of those smaller shelves with the bargain movies.

I think this is the best deal for the Princess Bride. The DVD and book together is $14.24. The book itself is $16.50 at Amazon.

and my Pride and Prejudice Gift set also from BB with a Ticket to see Atonement in theatres 12/07/07
