poor taste on sony's part requiring cutting of the art for the POP - this will cause me not to participate in this deal.

I have a few of these. If Best Buy prints out an automatic rebate receipt (as they did for the recent 360 HD-DVD deal, I might rebuy then return them and keep the rebate receipt and mail that with the POPs that I already have.

I know technically that's cheating the system but I figure if I've legitimately paid for these discs, I have every right to get in on this one.

Kinda strange there's no PO Box number listed...hopefully if its needed, they'll put the updated form up soon.

Sorry, pookymeister, can't definitively answer that one. It very well may be the sony offer since they control columbia/tristar.

I'm curious whether anyone has applied for this rebate with purchases from ddd, dvdp, amazon or other e-tailers. The rebate terms cryptically state, "store identified cash register receipt", and some folks on avs have speculated this may exclude amazon purchases. That would be odd, but not unheard of, so i'm checking it out to see if anyone has had success with online purchases.

Thanks. . .

I bought from Amazon, so thats a confirmation if that email winds up being this offer.
I got Patriot and Black Hawk Down during the B1G1 too so winds up being a really good deal over all

I, too, bought from Amazon and got this e-mail today saying mine shipped yesterday--i'm assuming you are correct about this being this offer--unless it is the 5 free Blu-Ray titles for buying my PS3.

I also purchased my DVDs for this offer from Amazon. So far I have not received any emails but I noticed recently they cashed my check for shipping. You can also check your status at the following web site. So far for me it only indicates they received it.

Just received an email tonight that my free DVD shipped. Also verified it on the rebate web site. Hope they give me my first choice.

Nice mine was just shipped today. Rock on. Forgot I had sent that in. I got my 5 free HD-DVD rebate already a week ago. This will be my Buy 2 get 1 free. Only waiting on my 5 free Blu Ray rebate from my PS3 purchase now.

Not bad for buying / putting rebates in all within the last 2 months.

So Pookymeister, was this email notifying you of the Sony rebate title? I got the same thing today.

My first choice was Casino Royale, so i'm hoping that's the one. . .

Can someone edit the title to reflect that this deal is dead?

It's not dead--the list of movies has changed and there is a new date range.

Anyone done this? My copy of Casino Royale is $0.00 on my receipt, curious if that'll take (part of the TRU B1G1 from this week).

Odd choices though, you have 3 great movies (Casino Royale, Superbad, The Lives of Others), 2 decent movies (Surfs Up, Reign over me), and 4 of the worst of 2007 (Resident Evil: Extinction, Perfect Stranger, Ghost Rider, D-Wars).

Which kills me because I just got Casino Royale and The Lives of Others in Amazon B1G1s and am currently waiting on a deal to pickup Superbad. Too bad the applicable dates of this deal weren't a little more forgiving.
