It's official! Get ready to BRAWL online! Super Smash Bros.!

I am officially PUMPED! I have been following all of the updates on the official Super Smash Bros. Brawl site (Smash Bros. Dojo in Japan), and it was just announced that it will officially use the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection for online BRAWLS!

Hit the link for details!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/gamem...i/wi-fi01.html

Let me just say, this game is going to rock! If you don't own a Wii, get one now! This game, along with Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, and Super Mario Galaxy, are the reasons to own one.

I can't wait to go up against all of you that have a Nintendo Wii and buy this game!

Let the online BRAWL begin!

Definitely a welcome (and expected) feature. However after the pain of setting up friend matches in Strikers, I'm really not looking forward to the overhead of it all.

BTW - there's already a main thread for Brawl: http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showthread.php?t=465021

There is also the ability to play against people without using Friend Codes. I believe that's the way I'll spend most of my online play time with SSBB!

^ Yeah, but I hate playing strangers mostly. I'm not good enough to have fun AND there's no bragging rights

Great news. But I hope this uses the existing friend codes rather than having its own system like Strikers.

Word. I don't mind friend codes as much as everyone else seems to as long as the list we've already built up is all we need, ala Metroid Prime 3. My only real complaint on is having to collaborate to make sure both people enter each other's codes instead of getting a notification that someone else added you. With the esoteric names some people have on Xbox Live, you're writing down/printing them out either way before you enter them into the system, right?

The image I saw on Dojo showed 64 possible entries in the friend list. So I'm thinking that doesn't jive with the Wii's own list of 100.

That picture makes it look like names are only 5 characters long

PIXY and LEROY fit in five, so I'm good.
