Transmorphers!!!

What's that? I made a mistake in the thread title? If only it were that simple...

That wonderful company, The Asylum, has made another film for us to enjoy. The Asylum loves to make cheap knock-offs of bigger event films to try and fool people into renting their movie. When The Omen came out, The Asylum made "666: The Child". When The Hills Have Eyes remake came out, The Asylum made "Hillside Cannibals".

Other films include "Exorcism: The Possession of Gail Bowers" (Emily Rose), "When A Killer Calls (When a Stranger Calls), and Snakes on a Train (well, duh).

And now....

TRANSMORPHERS!

Sadly I couldn't get the trailer to work.

The DVD has outtakes! WTF? Is this funded by the same people who pay Uwe Boll? I sense terrorist money laundering in the works.

I just checked them out on IMDB and they seem to do this all the time. Recently they had The Hitchhiker (The Hitcher), Pirates of Treasure Island, The Da Vinci Treasure, and my favorite the rip off of Eragon titled Dragon.

What's sad is that these people sleep on a pile of money at night.

I usually rent The Asylum's flicks when I need a good laugh. I'm sure I'll do the same with this.

A buddy of mine actually got into an internet war with one of Asylum's more prolific directors, Leigh Scott. Once Scott lost the war of words, he retaliated by naming a character in The Hitchhiker after my friend. And get this...he made it a gay character. Kind of shows you the state of mind these folks are operating under.

Haha, excellent. Hopefully someday I can piss him off enough to become a gay character in one of his flicks.

How exactly did your friend get in contact with him? If any of the Asylum guys post on message boards, i'd love to see what they actually think of the films they make.

I *think* my friend wrote a negative review of one of Scott's movies and said something negative about one of the actresses. Scott heard about it and bashed my friend in his blog. They exchanged a few e-mails continuing the battle.
My friend writes at Film Threat and some of his blog entries are devoted to these exchanges. You should check them out...they might explain better than my tired old brain. My buddy's name is Felix.

I slammed all of his movies based on purely objective opinion, and he started bad mouthing me. A few emails exchanged later on, and he made me a character in the movie out of revenge.

My character was named Felix (of course), was a porn reviewer (coincidence), and was gay (fiction), and was a mere five minute gag in the first five minutes.

Quite funny, and memorable. Something to write in my memoirs when I'm eighty, heh.

I think it says a lot about the quality of the people behind the company when the trailer for this "film" has to have the words "DO_NOT_ERASE" as part of the filename.

See, why would Dreamworks/Paramount waste all that money on CGI Transformers when Transmorphers just recycles graphics from the very first screensaver ever made?

Plus you don't need your guns to look like they're firing bullets -- just have the actors say BANG! BANG! a lot.

Here is the director defending his movie, he says that Shark Attack 3 is worse than his movie. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0960835/board/nest/78625421

Yup, I believe that most of them are. If not, Hollywood Video tends to stockpile these titles.
