The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (The Friendship Edition)---> 6/19/07

Amazon.com is listing the re-release of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (The Friendship Edition) as coming on June 19th.

http://www.amazon.com/Many-Adventure...44111&sr=1-730

I hope the recent legal troubles over the rights of the character don;t delay this release.

Very cool! I never picked up the old release; I'm glad I held out. Thanks for the info!

This would be the original Pooh movie then, right? It's one of the few Disney films I've been hoping to grab... never knew if they had released it or not but I knew it wasn't in stores lately when I tried to find it.

The first DVD has excellent image quality, but no original mono option (just a high-quality 5.1 remix).

Any rumors as to differences between this and the existing 25th Anniversary Edition? The list of extras at Amazon looks identical to what I already own.

Those are two of the three stories (along with "Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree") that make up the feature-length Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.

oooh, okay.... but from I can tell they were originally theatrically released as shorts and complied into one movie - gotcha!

Nothing to add, but I can't subscribe to this thread using the pull down menu due to the HD ad being in the way, so I'm subscribing this way.

My only gripe with the 5.1 remix was some of the voices sounded different compared to how I remember when I saw the original featurettes on TV. In the first two featurettes, Christopher Robin's voice should sound very American-kid like but the 5.1 track makes it sound like a halfway house between a US/British accent.
I won't upgrade though as the list of extras is identical to what I already have on R4, and the picture was already restored.

I have to agree with the reviewer - the "Hefalumps and Woozles" sequence is a rip-off of the Pink Elephants scene from Dumbo. Wierd but good though.

I did. The only review I saw was very light in describing the extras. I already know about the episodic content.
