The Illusionist 2 Disc Dvd --------> 6/19/07

I waited expecting something like that. I held off on the DVD for now even though I love this movie. I really want it on Blu-ray, but Fox does a really shitty job on Blu-rays making them bare bones and overpriced. I may just go for the 2 disc DVD instead in June.

Figured as much... fortunately I picked it up cheap/used from BB but overall this constant double dipping from everyone is making me less and less likely to actually buy anything anymore

I really enjoyed this movie and the 2 discer is tempting. Although by the time it comes out, you might be able to catch the single disc on sale for $10 or less somewhere. I'll probably just wait for that to happen and buy the single.

Same here. I still have yet to see it although I was a fan of The Prestige.

Even though it was Fox, I still didn't expect a double dip from this movie. Depending on the features, I might pick it up.

Exciting, albeit fairly unexpected, news. Especially this quick! I picked up the initial copy for pretty inexpensive, so the double-dip won't be too hard a bullet to take.

Ugh, just bought it cheap too recently. The double dip would have to have a ton of features for me to get it again. Really dug the movie but not enough for a few measly extras.

I really enjoyed this film so I'll probably be picking this up. I'm going to have to seriously curb my spending on initial releases. It seems EVERYTHING eventually receives an updgraded release shortly down the road.

Goddamnit. I really didn't expect this. Oh well, my rule of thumb is that unless a double-dip includes a new cut of the film, deleted scenes or a major upgrade in picture/audio then I won't bite.

David Prior, a well known DVD producer, mentioned on a message board once that he and other DVD producers work their asses off producing these big deluxe 2-disc sets, yet the studio gives these sets little if not zero promotion compared to the single disc sets that are released months earlier.

My wife prefers The Illusionist to The Prestige, but I only rented the 1 disc and only she saw it. I'll await reviews on the 2 disc before deciding which version to purchase.
