I have a feeling some of these like singing in the rain, casablanca, ben hur, gone with the wind will be the old 1 discers from way back. I do have hopes that titles like the goonies and gigi might end up in keep cases finally.

I don't own them all, but I own at least one title in each of the sets.

The good news (for me) is that each set includes at least one multi disk set where the bonus disk has been excluded.

And I have to have the bonus disk(s)!

same here, but I have met people who only want the films, and for them, this is a great deal. Some true classics for cheap.

It's a decent little film, enjoyed it when it came out, but I think you can count on one hand anyone who ever called it a classic.

i disagree. Goonies has become at the least a cult classic. Feltenstein said the suprise inclusion of The Goonies (written by Steven Spielberg and Chris Columbus) underscored the title's longevity in family entertainment.

"The Goonies is a sales pheneomon," he said. "The level of popularity of that film hasn't really ebbed the way a lot of other films from that era have. And the kids who went to see it [In 1985] are now parents of younger children."

Yes, but neither being a "cult classic" nor selling a lot of copies makes it a classic. "Plan 9 From Outer Space," after all, is a cult classic, with midnight screenings and all, but that doesn't mean it's a classic. And Danielle Steel books sell tons of copies, but that hardly makes them literary masterpieces.

I don't have much opinion on whether "The Goonies" is a classic (nor on whether "Willy Wonka" is), mostly because I think such distinctions are sort of silly and are best handled by people like Howard Bloom who want to waste their time on such discussions, I'm just arguing with your reasoning...
