New Bloc Party cd coming out in Feb
This might be the wrong message board to post it (not sure if there's a lot of new Brit rock fans reading it), but new Bloc Party cd in Feb might have me more excited even than the impending Radiohead album sometime in 2007. If you are into this type of music but haven't checked out Bloc Party yet, I seriously, seriously recommend Silent Alarm.

Good news.. I'll be very interested to see which direction they take, 2 more years wasn't great compared to everything on silent alarm

I'm pretty sure Silent Alarm is thought of quite highly by several of us.

Turns out it was named the album of the year by this very forum.

Great band... saw 'em live two years ago and thought they were fantastic.
They actually played here last night and if I was in a concert-going mood I might have gone to see them (or Cheap Trick... last night was weird here in Atlanta. Barenaked Ladies, Kinky, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Billy Joe Shaver and the previously two mentioned bands all played shows last night).

Got this email from Bloc Party yesterday:
US TOUR ANNOUNCEMENT
Bloc Party have been forced to cancel a number of shows on their current US tour with Panic! At The Disco after drummer Matt Tong was admitted to hospital in Atlanta with a collapsed lung after last night's performance.
Doctors at the hospital in Atlanta say Matt is in a comfortable condition and not in any danger, he will however be staying in hospital for at least the next three days for observation and it's not clear at this stage when Matt will be fit to resume performing.
The band will definitely not be playing at the Charlotte, NC (Cricket Arena), Fairfax, VA (Patriot Center) and both New York Madison Square Garden shows in the coming week.
