I hope the extras contain the script or storyboards for the final lost episode, but I don't think this will happen. I'll be happy just to get the complete set.

The story of the final episode from season 3, and the script can be found here.

I'd give my left nut (my favorite one) if they animated and voiced it for the DVD.

Me too BobSolo....me too.
Well I'm so glad this is officially coming out. Even though I own the R2 boxset, this just brings me total joy that this awesome series is coming home to R1. I'm buying this set no matter what.

I just stumbled upon this thread. The funny thing is, I just returned from a trip to Europe, and while in London, I picked up the R2 Dungeons and Dragons Box Set.
Grrr….

I think I'll get this, even though I'm not sure if I ever saw the cartoon.
But I loved D&D as a kid, and most animation, so it will be a fun blind buy.
Anyone remember the cool D&D cartoon ads in comic books back in the day? They were one pagers and carried a storyline from month to month if I recall.

I remember as a kid watching this show, and yes it was the greatest Saturday morning cartoon show of all time IMO. I notice that Toon Disney has been showing reruns of it sporatically, and I have been honestly suprised at how much I still enjoyed watching them, and how good they really were.

I don't want this to sound like a threadcrap, but I am a big fan of 80's cartoons, and it seems that a lot of them don't hold up very well. I've tried to watch this on Toon Disney lately, and it's just plain awful. I would seriously recommend checking out an episode on Toon Disney (or somehow...) before you plunk down for this box. I just felt I should warn anyone looking back through rose-tinted glasses.

Obviously it is subjective, but IMO, Dungeons and Dragons holds up very well... and in some respects is BETTER today. (probably in comparison to the junky cartoons and pretentious anime that is abundant today).

I grew up in the 80s and this cartoon along with Spiderman and His Amazing Friends were my favorites and they still are. I have the region 2 D&D set and this cartoon holds up very well.....for me. I still find Eric funny as hell.
But Milo, I know exactly what you mean about how old favorites aren't what they used to, but for me this show didn't end up like that.

Touche.
But remember, I can still watch Star Wars and actually enjoy it. I watched D&D wanting to like it, but I just couldn't. Caveat emptor and bon appetit

maybe even throw in the right one for good measure..
chances are they wont,
but itd be cool if someone somewhere made an effort,
even if its just some crude flash cartoon (if it looks good)..
personally, im trying not to get my hopes TOO high though,
apparently the folks who originally remastered it (dorks) ruined a few things..
(that happens WAY too much with animation)

Just like the U.K. releases, the opening credits of every cartoon on this set will feature the original opening credits as seen in the first year of original broadcast on ABC. That unfortunately goes for the second season episodes as well, but please don't get upset at BCI for that. Long before they came into the picture, the restoration process that was performed on this show's masters made that alteration, and so the original second season broadcast credits aren't there any more. I guess the restoration team didn't realize that the credits were different from season to season.
(not everyone notices these kinds of things, but i do)

It all sounds totally wonderful! Even better than the Region 2 release.
The cover looks like one of the rule books.
It would be great if they had the budget to create the final episode for this DVD set.
The "Choose Your Own Adventure" DVD game should be a lot of fun.
