Buffy S1-7 $19.99 each at Meijer (when buying in multiples of 2)
Meijer is selling season sets of Buffy the Vampire Slayer for $29.99 each. Also, in their circular, it says "Buy 2 seasons, get $20 instantly at the register". So you would think that would mean $19.99 per season.
Well, I went to Meijer today and the only seasons they had at my nearest Meijer were Seasons 1,3,7. Since I already have S1, I grabbed S3 and S7 and went to the register. Of course they rang up at regular price, $44.95, and $49.95, respectively. So I showed the lady the ad, and she called the manager up for a price adjustment. The manager shows up, and is going to give me the $29.99 price each. Then I showed him the "Buy 2 seasons, get $20 off." He says that the $20 off is part of the price. I tell him it says buy TWO seasons, get $20 at the REGISTER. He tells me the $20 off IS the $29.99 regular price. I explain that it should then say "Buy 2 seasons, get $35 off", since they were priced at $45 and $50.
We proceeded to get the other manager involved and bottom line is, they wouldn't give me the extra $20 off. I walked away empty handed.
Has anyone else seen this ad?? Better yet, has anyone tried this sale? It was part of the the Sunday paper in the Detroit area, and is in the Meijer MERCHANDISE ad, not their GROCERY ad. Is everyone else reading it the same way I did? I'm going to try and call their corporate department tomorrow to see what they say.

The reason they probably didn't ring up as the sale price is because on Tuesday 5/30 they are re-releasing all 7 seasons of Buffy in new slim cases that take up less space. I am surprised they didn't know that ahead of time.

Anyhow, I did go back today, and verified that this deal is for the new thinpacks. In Michigan, you can pick up 2 seasons for $42.38, including tax. Now I have to check on that $16 Walmart deal...

The Meijer in Champaign, Illinois only had seasons 1, 3, and 7 in their original cases. There was a sign for season 3 being on sale but the UPC did not match the original case. Thankfully the register rang them both up as $29.99 with $10 off.

This is interesting, as I thought the original cases would not be on sale, only the thinpaks. Guess I was wrong.
I ended up finding 1 copy of each at one of my local Meijers. I picked up Seasons 2-7 for $127.14, which is $21.19 per season. Great deal!!
