Separate HD-DVD/Blu-Ray Needed

I think its time to create a separate area for HD-DVD and Blu-Ray movies as a subforum of the main DVD Talk. Today we have an initial list of titles, as well as big announcments coming from CES on the 9th of this month. As info starts to flood in for the March releases, it would be nice to have a separate area, instead of trying to dig through the main forum.

I agree. And will keep the threads out of the way for those of us that don't care about either right now.

I agree. I'd rather have a forum directly linked to the future of pre-recorded movies and those who are interested than to have to constantly hear from people who don't care (for the moment) or think it will fail (and the reasons why).

Yup, I agree it might be time for a sub forum for those folks.

We don't need a subforum. The subforum will fail. The current DVD forum is good enough for most people and only enthusiasts will need HD-DVD / Blu-Ray in subforum form. Plus, if you think about it, there's bound to be a lot more DVD threads out there even while HD-DVD threads are slow to come out. In the beginning, most people only need hybrid HD-DVD and DVD threads anyways.

HD-DVD and Blu-Ray will NEVER catch on. It will have worse quality picture and will never have as many titles as <strike>laserdisc</strike> DVD!

No mod comment? Its starting to get hot in Blu-Ray/HD-DVD land with many studios already announcing titles and many expected to do so soon.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm planning on adding a new forum area:

HDTalk - The place to discuss HD-DVD, Blu-Ray and all other forms and formats of HD and HDTV.

As I was typing a response in a thread, they moved it to the new forum. It threw me off at first ("Huh??? HD Talk??") Good idea though.

Hey, Geoff. Now that we have this new subforum, can we get HD listed on the upper left clickdown box to jump to the forum? Thanks!

It is listed on the top left Forum Jump box. But one thing that I just notice is that it wasn't listed when I'm on International DVD Forum. When I jumped to some other forum like Movie Forum/Hardware Forum, it went back to normal. Can somebody fix it?

It also doesn't list it if you are in the Video Game Talk forum.

6+ years here and I just found out there's a 'forum jump' box.

Does the HDTalk spot on the forum jump keep disappearing at times, or am I losing my mind?

Just curious, is this going to be fixed, or will we just have to live with it. It is just a minor, but annoying inconvenience.
