In case you weren't aware, the Friend Codes aren't applicable across all games, so you'll have a different code for each NWC (Nintendo Wi-fi Connection) enabled game you play. With Animal Crossing coming out soon, I decided to go ahead and create the official NWC Friend Code thread for everybody here at DVD Talk. I've started with the table goLUCKY compiled over in the Mario Kart DS thread, so to him for laying the groundwork for this thread.

As you can see, I've added a Nickname column. Even though a nickname is not unique or permanent like an XBOX Live gamertag, I think it'll be a nice reminder to be able to see who you were playing last night or to double check whether or not you've already added a particular Friend Code to your DS. If you're the type of person who likes to mix things up as far as nicknames are concerned, it may be best to leave this cell blank to avoid confusion. I think most people won't change their nickname once they enter it in, though. In any case, try to keep me updated if there is a change.

If you'd like to add your information, just post your DVD Talk username, your DS nickname, the game(s), and the friend code(s). I think that covers everything, but I'm open to suggestions/comments.

12/7/05: I just reformatted the table to include all the Animal Crossing info. It didn't occur to me that there'd be more than one user on each cart. I wonder if two people on the same cartridge will have the same friend code with only the character name different. For the time being, I left the DS nickname separate from the Mario Kart column because I figured there'll be more games that only use that as your character name. Time will tell, but if things get too complicated, I'll just have to make a separate table for each game that comes out.

If you're adding your Animal Crossing info, be sure to include your character name and town along with the friend code.
