Al Pacino Collection from Fox - Indefinitely delayed

I am not familiar with any of these films, but I am a big Pacino fan. Is this worth a blind buy?

http://www.dvdanswers.com/index.php?...7291&n=1&burl=

Title: Al Pacino Collection
Starring: Al Pacino
Released: 18th October 2005
SRP: $34.98

Further Details
Fox Home Entertainment has sent over artwork for a new Al Pacino Collection, which includes The Local Stigmatic, Chinese Coffee, Looking for Richard and an exclusive Al Pacino box set bonus disc. I'm afraid we have no word on the contents of this disc, but we'll let you know just as soon as we know anything. You'll be able to own this one from the 18th October this year, with the set retailing at around $34.98.

"Looking For Richard", I believe, is a documentary (or faux doc) about putting on a production of Richard III. The other two, I've never heard of.

I saw it (Sundance Channel or IFC) and it is excellent.

The other two ..... I'm clueless.

Both of the others were directed by Pacino and never released. Looks like they're taking out the garbage.

These are the three films which Pacino has directed over the years. Interesting, in that two of the three ('Chinese Coffee' and 'Local Stigmatic') were never officially released, only screened in selected venues. Word is that Pacino constantly re-edited the films and never got them to a point he liked.

(Well, I guess he did now...)

They're all adaptations of plays, though, as pointed out, 'Looking For Richard' is as much about adapting 'Richard III' and performing it.

Interesting...same day as Panic in Needle Park and Author Author are to be released. Oct. 18 must now be declared Al Pacino Day.

I'm disappointed they're not releasing Looking for Richard separately (I thought Pacino’s friend Frederic Kimball was hysterical in it.)

Because of the price and scant information available on the two unreleased films, I'll probably wait for the reviews to come out before deciding whether or not to buy the box set.

Why was this delayed to begin with?

Seems like a clever move to coincide with the other Pacino dvd's released that day.
