I liked Saving Private Ryan, Enemy at the Gates, Platoon, and Band of Brothers, which I guess isn't really a movie. Oh well.

3. Saving Private Ryan
4. The Patriot
5. Pearl Harbor
6. The Final Countdown (Can't for a REAL DVD to be released for this movie)

7. Schindler's List (when it comes out on DVD)

I've gotten into war movies a lot more recently (within the last 2 years or so) and all of the ones that have been mentioned are great. Also add in:

- Glory,
- Gods And Generals,
- Andersonville,
- We Were Soldiers,
- Patton, and
- Band Of Brothers (one more time for good measure )

I liked U571, but I also really like Where Eagles Dare. My dad used to watch it all the time as I was growing up, so I guess it reminds me of him.

As far as best war film ever, I have to side with Martin Scorsese who called Terence Malick's The Thin Red Line the best film of the 90's.
