Rush Hour 3....any more news on this?
I have heard 2004 is when film starts pre-production, has anyone else heard a thing about this one? Nobody makes me laugh like Chris Tucker, please tell me this is still on.

Considering Chris Tucker has done zilch lately and Jackie Chan's latest movies have struggled (Tuxedo, Medallion... even Shanghai Knights only took in 60 mil) i'm sure we'll be seeing this soon.

Chris Tucker has only been doing the Rush Hour movies. His "Mr. President," a comedy about the first black president never showed up and we've already seen Chris Rock do the same premise in Head of State. His $20,000,000 asking price after having only 2 real blockbusters (and both within the same franchise) is completely out of line with the other proven draws who can command that much (Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise, etc.)

This is why
The reason as to why your not seeing alot of Chris Tucker out there, is because he recently became a born-again Christian. he is more into doing charity events and causes for third world countries than for making movies right now, however he and jackie are both scheduled for part 3.
Did you ever notice how he really cleaned up his mouth for part 2?

I'd love to see them close this series out in New York. It makes sense since for 1, it was Chris' hood(LA), 2 it was Jackie's hometown(Hong Kong) so for 3 it should be a place where they're both "outsiders".

Rush Hour 3 Without Chris Tucker?
From Aint it Cool:
"VARIETY reported that Lucas and Speilberg have approved the Indiana Jones 4 script by Jeff Nathanson. Now they are waiting for Harrison Ford to approve.
In other related news, Nathanson's Rush Hour 3 treatment met with disapproval by the $20 million recluse Chris Tucker...as New Line's 2006 linchpin is now dead in the water. Brett Ratner & Jackie Chan were all signed on, all that was left was for Tucker to sign on but alas...I guess he has other things to do. "
This would be a huge blow as Tucker is a critical part of the Rush Hour formula. The guy's kind of weird though as he hasn't made a movie since the last one and has been "finding himself," etc.
IF they were to find a replacement my pick would be DAVE CHAPPELLE! C'mon, you know that would still rule box office, as Chappelle also has his own built in audience and I think would easily fill the void.
The funny thing is, in one of his skits in Season 2, he kind of pokes fun of the idea that he was considered a role for Rush Hour originally.

Without Tucker, I don't really see how it's Rush Hour. It's not like those flicks had much of a story or concept. The concept was...Chan and Tucker. They might as well not make it without him. Actually, they might as well not make it period.

I agree, Rush Hour 3 W/out Tucker is not a Rush Hour flick. I enjoy Chappelle but, he would be an impossible fit with Chan AFAIC.

Either sign Tucker or don't make it. Please don't change one of the leads. I'd rather wait years for RH3 than see them bring in Chris Rock or Dave Chappelle, even though I like those guys.

You guys can blame it all on me...Tucker must have read my post accusing him of being a hypocritical Christian and decided he couldn't continue living a life of lies...who'd a thunk one day the destruction of an entire franchise would fall on my shoulders...
