That's cool, I'm just getting into the Foo Fighters kind of (don't have any albums or anything, but am enjoying the songs I hear on the radio.) But why would remastering be of any concern? They are all recent albums, and most albums that are considered "remastered" didn't need to be in the first place.

Here's a thought, why not release a cd (or double cd if need be) of the b-sides, live tracks, acoustic, bbc, unreleased, etc. instead of screwing the fans who already have all of the cd's? Pearl Jam is doing just that with a b-sides/rarities double cd later this year.

well, The Colour and the Shape is one of my favourite albums of ALL TIME so I will be more than willing to buy it again... that album totally rules.

Well this is good news because I still haven't bought the first album. This is BAD news because I already have the second and third. I was a little peeved when I first saw this thread but they are added a TON of stuff to the albums. 7-8 new songs on each album. When you add that all up it comes up to a whole new album!

My Colour and the Shape is VERY scratched too. While I'm not outragously happy to have to drop $20 again for two CDs I already own it'll be alright. Christmas is coming up fast.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: REISSUES SUCK!!!

I hope they rerelease the new album since I prefer the accoustic version of "times like these" to the album version

Well, I may finally have an excuse to buy the first two albums now.

At least they are adding more than just one extra track to each album.

not that I want to come off as ungrateful [cuz i'm not], but an album like Meat Loaf's "Bat Out Of Hell" begins at "Bat Out Of Hell" and ends with "For Crying Out Loud".

I have purchased all of their albums.

So if you rounded up all this b-sides etc. by buying import singles and the like for $10 a pop then you don't need these.

I would prefer to get the extras on one disc....hopefully i can copy them without spending another 45 or 50 bucks on three
albums i already have.

I don't own any of their albums so I'll gladly buy the re-releases.

these cds are gr8 - especially COLOUR AND THE SHAPE - very high replay value. ill probably buy the rereleases just to listen to the bonus material

I wish they would release DVD-Audio versions of these while they're at it.

How could they rerelease albums that are only a few years old and not OOP?

I believe they did this with the Cranberries stuff while it was still in print. I'm all for it - bonus tracks baby!

I would have bought these. There are EIGHT extra tracks, that's practically another album worth. Fuel tried this, and there were only 3 each and they weren't even all new songs to boot. Now THAT is a rip.

And the industry wonders why sales are down. Or why people would be intereested in downloading. Gee maybe if you stopped screwing the consumer (The Cure will be screwing me later this year with reissues with a couple of extras - on top of a rarities box set) sales would improve and downloading would not be the problem it is today.





diclaimer: I know downloading will never stop, but I know many people that download due to the screwing the industry insist upon.

I will download (which I haven't done in months) to listen to an artist/song I am not familiar with, and if I like I buy, if not I delete (or forget about on the HD til it is clean up time). Or to get an early taste of a new album to tide me over til the real deal is out.

I think it's a different case with The Cure. Most of their notable rarities will be on the box set. And the albums being reissued are almost twenty years old.

Right on Dubya. I like the Foo Fighters but I'm not dropping ANOTHER $14.99 each on the reissues just because they have a song that they might have played only at one show or on the BBC. They could very easily release a "Rarities" CD. But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! These albums aren't that old. Do they really warrant a re-issue at this time?

It's this nickel and dime crap that the music industry is so caught up with that's the reason they are on a downward slide.
