Thought it was hilarious. Just hope they don't stick to this format. Funny one shot.

Love Billy Walsh!

Enjoyed the episode, and it was great to finally see Vince on the set doing some work.

As usual though, realism definitely isn't a concern for the show. Some of it was tongue-in-cheek, but you can only use that excuse so often.
Vince's makeup was horrible, and it was funny to see him with a fat face and a gut but the rest of him was his normal skinny self. It looked quite odd.

Another laugher was when they show the dailies being viewed and for some odd reason they have music scores set to the footage.

The movie really doesn't look that good and the acting is just bad

In any case, it looks like the boys landed on their feet... again.

Drama has to be one the greatest characters in recent television history.

I was looking at upcoming episode descriptions and in two weeks Drama is going to

Spoiler:
try to get his apartment annexed into the zip code 90210

Only to have the usual monkey wrench thrown in during the last ten seconds, not knowing how crazy Walsh will edit the movie.

This was probably my least favorite episode since the Mandy Moore arc. I've never been a fan of gimmick episodes of any show.

While off topic, any books you might recommend about the real Pablo Escobar that Medellin might possibly be based upon? I have Killing Pablo by Mark Bowden, but that seems to more or less be about the strike against him.

Actually, I hated that. The whole thing with Bob Ryan was that he kept using that line, apparently oblivious to the fact that he said it all the time and was offended when E used the line. To name his book that totally ruins the joke.

I didn't like this episode at all, and I hate Billy Walsh. He makes the show unbearable for me.

This was also my favorite episode since the ep when Ari was fired from his agency.

My wife and I were talking last night about how great it would be if they actually did one of these movies for real and released it. Just waiting for Drama's small part and hearing the crowd's thunderous reaction would be worth the admission price.

they should make an intentionally horrible and cheesy movie staring Johnny Drama for an HBO original movie.

This was my absolute favorite episode of the entire series. Loved it, everything about it. Mind you I wouldn't want this format every week but for a season starter it was fantastic.

Nice to have actually seen some of a movie being made. Wish they had done this for Aquaman.

I just figured he wrote a book and the publisher suggested the title. You know the guy for 10 seconds and you realize it's his catchphrase.

About the season as a whole... anyone else worries that this thing is going to tank when it's released?

Yeah, there's no way that would ever work.

It did demonstrate the difference between doing it well, and well, doing it.

I think he meant that statement in relation to this series. That works on the office but only because that is the series' format.

I too am concerned about Medellin flopping, and in all honesty, it's fate has been determined already! I have the feeling that Walsh will keep the thing in the editing room for close to a year and Vince will be without a movie gig until it is released.
Spoiler:
I can't really fathom why nobody would want to hire Vince until the movie was released.

My response isn't a spoiler, but since I'm responding to something shown in the previews for this season, I'll spoilerize my speculation:

Spoiler:
Vince has burned a lot of bridges, such as bowing out of Aquaman 2 and antagonizing Lionsgate over their handling of Queens Blvd.. I'm not sure how many months have passed in Entourage-time, but if it's been a while since he had a huge hit, even if it's on the order of a year and a half/two years, the heat could've cooled off. Between Vince no longer being the it-kid and a public perception of being difficult to work with, the studios might just not find him worth the trouble. Maybe Vince could find work from someone, somewhere, but nothing in the league expected from a star of his "stature". Just like Walsh got it together for Medellin despite what a pain in the ass he's consistently shown to be, the studios could overlook Vince's shortcomings if Medellin is spectacular. If not...::shrugs::

Well, we could always have Entourage move the gang back to New York where Vince does theater work! Then that could set up for them to encounter the women from Sex and the City. (Please don't let this happen.)

Unfortunately, Medellin doesn't look too good from what we have seen, but then again, nothing I have seen looks that impressive, and we never see the finished product anyhoo.

But dang I would love to see Medellin for real!
