Soul Calibur IV Teaser XB360/PS3

Just saw this now, and thought I'd share. EGM will be covering the game in their July 3rd issue. For now here is the teaser. This is easily my most anticipated game of 2008...unless Smash Bros. Brawl gets delayed (oh god I hope not)

Also I noticed EB/Gamestop is taking pre-orders on a Soul Calibur game for the Wii. It's titled something else, though, not IV.

It's an adventure game, not a fighting game.

when's this game supposed to drop?

I'm thinking about selling my DoA4 arcade stick, but I might have to reconsider

the game for the Wii is more of a spin off, and probably has little to do with the actual game, apart from using weapons

Finally, an adventure game where you can use weapons!

Tekken 5 DR for the PS3 got an update that included online play. There may be hope yet.

For now the update appears to be Japan only. Im wondering if maybe this is a sort of test to see if they can put Calibur online.

I can't wait to play SC IV...I've been beating the piss out of SC on the Dreamcast recently, and that sucker still might be the tightest 3d fighter out there...

As usual, my girlfriend who knows nothing about videogames will just kick my ass by button-mashing

I have mastered the moves of Kilik and Mitsurugi where I easily defeat my friends and the single player mode.

However my girlfriend takes great pleasure in owning me by not caring and just pushing every button and laughing as I kick the chips on the table and wonder about that 3rd ring out in a row

Me and my friends played Soul Calibur (DC) every night straight for about two and a half years. Sadly when SC 2 came out we were all living far from each other, and one of them even joined the military and got married! Still when we do find time to get together we boot up any of the three. Hopefully SC IV will be online, it would be nice to play my friends again. Sadly out of all my current friends I'm the only one who still plays Calibur III. I occassionally get challenged at work, but no one has been able to put up a good fight.

If you didn't live across the country, I'd challenge ya.

I like SC III, but to me, it wasn't just as good as the previous two...but for me, SC on the DC, especially lately, I just can't seem to get enough of.

If SC IV has online battles I'll hold you to that! SC (DC) was an example of how you port a popular arcade game the right way. The game had everything (well except Arthur and Glass mode). SC 3 is a VERY strange creature. They brought back the "weight" of the characters so they didn't speed around the arenas like they do in SC II. However they took away running combos, and wall jumps....yet kept the wall damage? "Just Imputs" i can deal with as being something you just have to work for, but some of the cast (old and new) have some real balance issues. I don't agree with making some characters godly (read: Taki, Zassalamel)
and nerfing old faves (Nightmare, Kilik). I have to agree that SC 3 may not be the polished game SC 2 was, but I still get a kick out of playing that game.

That's cool that you can bring your customized character online. I thought the last game was pretty deep with what you could do.

New pictures!

Thought I'd post the links to new Soul Calibur Legends pics (courtesy of IGN) and the scans from the Soul Calibur IV coverage in EGM (from Magic Box).
