Anyone know if the Apes Legacy set offers remastered anamorphic video for all the movies?

Is this the best price you've ever seen for the first 3 seasons? I've held out because of price and because I've read they changed a lot of music and even had some problems with the dialogue not being in synch. Is any of that true? Also, is season 4 that last one with Joel?

I hate add more tv to my collection, but this is pretty tempting. Will BB price match all prices or is that only for new releases?

Thanks.

Licensed Music missing on Quantum Leap 2-4 replaced by generic instrumentals.

Uk versions have orginal music for Quantum Leap 2-4.

There's a mistake with the Video Games. Ape Escape 3 is $27.88, like the PSP games, not $17.88 as written above. The OP misread the ad.

This is why I wouldn't buy them even if they were $5.

I picked these up today. They were not advertised within the in-store circular. The cashier was pretty surprised when he rang them up. This is the best price I've seen for these sets. I wasn't aware that the music had been replaced on Seasons 2 & 3. I've just spent the last 20 minutes reading reviews on Amazon and I've decided to return those two and maybe even the first. I love this show but this music replacement issue really irks me. I can patiently wait for a better version or tape them off of tv if it comes down to it.

I'm pretty sure that season 1 and 2 are being re-released as 1 set and that they won't be flippers. The in store prices will probably be about $40-$45, so you'd be getting a better set for almost the exact same price if you can wait until May 9th.

Anyone considering picking up these sets should take this into consideration.

R2 also has single sided discs versus the notorious DVD18s in R1.

Did other people find that CC was out of some of the 2 for $10 DVDs by early Monday morning? I called before going and asked about several titles I was considering (Bone Collector, Blue Crush, The Hurricane, and a few others) and they said those were all gone. I knew to call because my CC (and BBY) often only get a few of each DVD when a sale starts on Sunday and they are sold out for the rest of the week about 30 minutes after open on Sunday. (I have other things I like to do on Sunday morning than rushing out to stores.)

I went to BBY (for Doom 3 for $10) and looked for the same titles... couldn't find a single one of them except Bone Collector. My Walmart doesn't carry these either, so it's funny when I finally see a 2 for $10 sale that has a few titles I'm interested in, there is nowhere in my tiny city of about a half million people where I can find 2 of these titles, so the ads are worthless. I'm curious if this is the way it is at all CC and BBY stores on old, cheap DVDs or just near me?

Manzana, I've been reading your posts for a while and it seems like you have the worst luck when it comes to dvd bargains.

Went to CC yesterday. That had to be the most disorganized dvd section I have ever seen. So I went to BB and got a price match with RZ.

I have also seen this type practice at the Circuit City around me at times. This is part of the reason I don't shop there as much as I used to. One thing I found that if I really want an item / items, I can call CC and have the items held for me. Something that Best Buy will not do for me no matter how much I drop in their laps.

The only suggestion I can make Manzana is to make a list of what you'd like held and call CC and have them held for you. I'm fortunate in that there are 3 CC stores near me but that scenario may not be the same for you.

I have also spoken to store managers at CC in regards to increasing initial shipments of sale items. It's not like these sale items are rare, oop Criterions. Please keep us posted.

Thanks for the prices. I went yesterday and picked up Northern Exposure Season 2. Would have like to pick up more, but the budget only allowed one purchase this week.

I noticed (as others have mentioned) that the back cover had the note about not the same music as the televised version. I checked but didn't see that on Season 1.

I mentioned it to my husband, and he thought was, what do we really care? He certainly didn't remember what music was played; he just wanted to see the show. It's kind of a simple view, but I guess I agree in a way. I'd rather have it exactly as it was on TV, but something is better than nothing.
