I've actually been waiting for a SE of this. The Waterboy was one of the first 5 DVDs I ever bought.

Is anamorphic official or is that just an assumption thats pretty safe to make? (although I assumed House S1 would be anamorphic, but it was not).

I'm not a huge huge Sandler fan, and I do enjoy his other movies, but I thought this movie was just hilarious.. actually, I think the supporting cast really made this movie. Especially Kathy Bates' character.

I'll have to grab a copy of this, along with the new Wedding Singer someone mentioned...

I think that the Snapper to Keepcase thread has talk of a keepcase Little Nicky...

I wonder if they'll package it with Harold Lloyd's "The Freshman" since it's the film The Waterboy ripped-off of without credit.

I've been wondering that ever since 6/6 passed. At first I thought maybe I was dreaming and that the thread didn't really exist. lol

I asked a while back on another thread but no one answered it. I noticed that it was listed as 6/6/06 on DVD Aficianado, then it was changed to Not Announced. So I don't know...

They should just try and hold to it and not tease potential buyers like this. Or don't make any announcement at all, there that's better [scratches head].

I was thinking about this DVD the other day. The SE of the Waterboy along with Cocktail were canceled without explanation. Any status on this?

It was postponed indefinitely/canceled by Buena Vista along with other SE DVDs like Cocktail.

I wish Adam Sandler's movies would get worthwhile SE re-issues. Sure, they're not genius, but the SE of Happy Gilmore was a huge, lame disappointment. I love that movie enough that if they wanted to try again -- it'd be the third time I'd bought it -- with audio commentary by Sandler and Dugan (or also a cast track, which would probably be more lively and entertaining), a new making-of featurette, and the trailer, I'd buy it. The Wedding Singer was also an appalling misfire of an SE, and Billy Madison could have used the trailer and a featurette as well.

Hopefully if Buena Vista ever gets around to releasing this, they actually do a passable job with it.

I also wish that the deleted scene's were in better condition (because many of them are in the tv versions, and they looked fine.)

Bringing up and old thread.... I was hoping for some news on this one as the 10-year anniversary is here in Nov- I went to see this on my first date with my wife and we are planning on watching it that night. I was hoping for a blu-release by now- but oh well.
