Rumors of AC/DC's next album

The Wal-Mart near me had displays of the cd in just about every department plus a huge one selling their back catalogue and t-shirts and stuff in men's clothing. I picked up Black Ice and all of the other Brian Johnson cds for $7 each. Can't beat that.

Picked up the limited edition yesterday. It only rang up at $11.88 instead of the marked $13.88.
It's actually a pretty good album; I'd probably say it's their best since For Those About to Rock... Feels like they tried to recapture their late 70s/early 80s sound, and mostly succeeded. Brian Johnson even sounds a bit like Bon in a couple of places.

At my local indie shop, in addition to selling the Black Ice cd (not sure if they are just re-selling Walmart copies or if they are imports), but they are selling a pretty funny shirt. It has the picture of Angus from the Powerage cover, wearing a hat with a W on it. The top of the shirt says "Official Greeter" and the bottom of the shirt says WAL/MRT in the AC/DC logo font. Also, Angus is wearing a button that says "Moneytalks". They were $15. I probably would have bought one if they were $10. I tried to find a pic of it but had no luck.

I finally was able to pick this up yesterday. Listened to about half of it so far, and LOVE it. Easily my favorite since at least Razor's Edge, but probably farther back. It's crazy walking in Wal-Mart and seeing so much AC/DC stuff. Nice, though.
Did anyone else's Wal-Mart have AC/DC PET CLOTHES like mine did?

Really like the CD. There were three copies available at Future Shop, anyone know what the difference is? The only visual difference was the color of the lettering of AC/DC.

the blue is the deluxe edition and the only difference is a bigger booklet with more pictures and lyrics.

Plus the packaging itself on the Deluxe Edition is more "book" like, like a leather bound embossed edition, where the regular version is just a standard digipack. For two whole dollars more, it was worth it, to me, but that could very for yourself.

I never ssaw the deluxe edition sadly...because I wandered into the men's clothing section and saw the album there...which kinda sucks. Oh well.

Searched the store over but could not find the deluxe edition. Found plenty of the regular editions (Picked up the white cover). Thought of getting a T-shirt also but selection was week. But did finally pick up Highway to hell and Powerage on CD. Long overdue record replacements.
Get home and realized I could of just ordered the Deluxe from walmart.com. Oh well.

Powerage is a great album - I love What's Next to the Moon.
What is the difference between the versions of the new album? I bought it on Monday and all the copies were in black cardboard "jewel boxes."

It was released in a "standard" edition with a red AC/DC logo in a digipak like all of the other current AC/DC albums.
There were also two special standard covers, with yellow and white AC/DC logos. All three of these are exactly the same except for the color of the logo on the front cover. They are also priced at $11.88 each.
Then there's a "limited edition." It has a blue/white AC/DC logo and comes in a digipak that looks like a little hardcover book. It has a booklet with lyrics and pictures that doesn't come with any of the other three editions. It is priced at $13.88 (but the register only rang my copy up at $11.88).
The Wal-Mart I went to had a ton of the three standard covers... probably 200 or more scattered throughout the store, but they only had eight or nine of the limited editions.

I love it.
It makes me want to call Don on Saturday night, get in his Monte Carlo, head down to the beer store for a keg, find a forgotten about dead end street, call some chicks, let the word get out, crank the AC/DC and party until the cops show up!
I call music like this "Party Rock". I put Van Halen in this category also.

I've been listening to Black Ice for a few days now, and it really is their best stuff since before The Razor's Edge (Jesus, I was in highschool at that time).
Rock and Roll Train, Big Jack, and Rock and Roll Dream are vintage AC/DC. I'm still trying to get a feel for the other songs. There's some great rhythm work on this album, but the solos aren't very impressive. Still, it's been a while since I've actually been excited about AC/DC.
I've heard that this could be their last album. If so, its not a bad way to go out. Also, I just realized that if it is their last album, they never wrote a single song that was actually about something. Just an observation.

I've given the disc a few spins now. The song that stands out the most (and my favorite, I think) is Anything Goes. Rounding out the top 3 are Skies on Fire and She Likes Rock'n'Roll.
Two songs I definitely do not care for: War Machine & Decibel
Still feeling out the rest of the songs in the middle somewhere.

I am SOOOO Freaking excited....one of my best friends' mom received four seats to the Delta suite at Phillips Arena for AC/DC in Atlanta on December 16th, and I got one of them. They are by no means by favorite band of all-time, but to see these legends is going be spectacular. My dad and father-in-law both regret not seeing them in the 80's, so I'm really excited.
