I recently rewatched seasons 1 and 2 because we moved and didn't have cable hooked up for 2 weeks. Season was very good after watching it again. I wasn't a big fan of season 2 but still enjoyed it very much. But after watching season 2 again I think it gets a bad rap. I originally didn't like it, probably for many of the same reasons some others didn't. I didn't like Ana Lucia, I didn't like the Tailies very much, and how many times did we have to hear Michael "They took my son! WAAAAAAAAALT! They took my boy!"??
But the stories of the Tailies was more limited than I remember, we got to see Ana Lucia get shot, and I enjoyed rewatching the discovery of the hatches, Desmond, and Ben. I think the hatches, videos, capture and interchanges with Ben, and confrontation with the Others were very good storylines in addition to some good flashbacks. Anyone else feel differently after rewatching the first two seasons at a quicker pace on DVD?
On that note, can't wait for Season 3 on DVD and for Season 4 to start! I thought it was a great ending to Season 3.

I am sure this has been discussed previously, but I'd love to get discussion going again about Season 3.
In Flashes Before Your Eyes, did anyone else get a feeling that Desmond's Flash Backs were really flash forwards? Or are we supposed to continue to think that the incidents of "deja vu" that he experienced were due to premonitions?
I thought it was interesting that Desmond was awakened by Penny at the moment he turned the failsafe key. Almost like he is being forced to re-live his past until he gets it right. He referenced Deja Vu several times during the episode and it just seemed to coincide with the Season 3 finale's fast forwards with Jack.
Any thoughts or opinions? Btw, after rewatching Season 3, I cannot wait for the new season to begin. It almost seems like it was worth the wait at this point.

For one, the long "flashback" in the episode where Desmond relives his past is exactly that, a flash back to the past for him, although he still has memories of the future. For one, he sees Charlie in the flashback, which wouldn't make sense if it was "really a fast forward," since Charlie'd be dead in any future. For another, the talk with the shopkeeper explicitly states that he's reliving the past.
Also, Desmond's regular premonitions are not the same as the flash fowards we see in the season finale. We know that Desmond actually experiences and remembers those premonitions, and can also act on them and change the future. There's no evidence that anyone on the island was actually experiencing the flash forwards of the season finale, or that anyone was going to change the present so that those flash forwards don't actually occur.

Just finished watching this finale last night. I thought it was much better than season 2 end. My predictions for who's in the casket ; Michael. Jack was in a poor african american neighborhood. Michael didn't have much money in the first place so i can see him having not much of a ceremony. Walt wasn't there cause something may have happened between them upon returning. They didn't get along that much to begin with so going from living a good life with the others to a shitty life would affect them greatly. I think seson 4 they'l reveal a tragic story that led to his son leaving him and eventually his death.

Nice things about these threads is the rules do a pretty good job of letting people read them without worrying about being spoiled.
Are you moving on to Season 4 now?

It is crazy and awesome to think that people can watch an entire season in a night or two but that is was LOST will do to you. It is great to go back and watch them again with a new eye on things and I think this show will live on for quite some time.
