The XA2 offers some picture/color adjustment controls also, I believe. From what I gather, the XA2 is the best upscaling unit for dvd because of the Reon. As far as HD DVD, I haven't really seen anyone stating that it produces a better picture for them compared to the other units. But $699 is a great price Toshiba's top of the line unit. Before I even consider it, I'm gonna wait and see if the next firmware takes care of Josh's problems with his unit.

It appears the A20 will not noly be a popular choice for many, but it's lowering the cost of the other players. I'm sure the A2 will be dipping before $399 sometime over the next 1-2 months. The XA2 keeps dropping now.

A poster from AVS says he got his new OneCall catalog for April. In there, they have new MSRP for the following:

XA2 - 799.99
A20 - 499.99
A2 - 399.99

Amazon has it for $599 right now ($569 from electronics expo with $25 shipping also).

I went ahead and snagged this. Ill sell my A2 and the 5 free titles to help pay for it.

It was just too good of a price for me to hold off right now.

Ill be connecting via HDMI only, so hopefully I wont see the LFE issue that Josh was seeing.

Are people not buying the A20? I'm wanting to find out if it's better at upconversion compared to the A2. Basically, is the A20 a 1080p version of the A2? Or is it closer to the XA2 in terms of performance.

Its an A2 with 1080p capability.

I have one right now while my XA2 is being replaced. The load times and performance remind me of the A2.

I dont see a huge difference in pic quality between the A20 or XA2 except slightly on sd content.

I've been flirting with the idea of getting one for the 1080p, but I would lose the analog 5.1 capability of my A1. I just got a 1080p set in March, so I guess it comes down to what's better: 1080i to a 1080p display with decoded next-gen audio to the analogs or 1080p to a 1080p display with the downconverted bitstream to my receiver.
