Beware of the Beavis & Butt-Head (Supposed Special Edition)

I was excited when I logged on tonight to see that CH carries the new B&B, or I'm lead to believe by having the new release cover pic next to the title. I see that their price is fantastic (6.48 plus 2.99 shipping) compared to local retailers and their best prices. I hastily order one without being absolute sure of what I was going to get, but should it really take investigating? Just a few minutes later I decide to go back and see what they list as special features on this supposed new edition that they carry and I notice that the release date states the dvd was released in 1999. Now I'm wondering if they have duped me for a second time. Awhile back I ordered what I thought was the Of Mice and Men (Special Edition) because the title and picture of the cover art said so. However, CH shipped me the regular edition and not the S.E. I called and complained and they went ahead and shipped me a second copy (I had to return the first one) and lo and behold it too was the original pressing and not the advertised S.E. So as of right now, I'm simply waiting until tomorrow. I'm hoping that I will be able to actually get someone on the phone who can either guarantee me that I'll receive the new edition of the B&B movie or simply cancel my order so I can end my frustration with CH immediately. I really do hope that they have the new edition for this great price and have simply forgot to update all of the details of the new release. If anyone out there knows anything that they can add please do so.
Again, Beware of the Butt!

It's going to be the old version. I checked to see if it was available for enrollment and it was. There's no way that it would be available for enrollment if it was the new version. Hopefully you'll be able to cancel your order without too much trouble.

Thanks for letting me know. I dont know why CH tries to get away with the lies and deceit.

It's not "lies and deceit". It's "mistakes and incompetence". The difference is subtle, but real.

yeah, I was about to order this as well until I saw the description below it. The release date was 1999 so I knew it was the old one.

Thats what CH is hoping people believe while they sell a few copies to people (like me at first) who don't have a clue what they are really buying. CH is acting more and more like a desperate used car salesman.

I logged in a few days ago and it was the old version they had pictured and I didn't order. I hope this means that they are going to carry the Special Edition sometime soon. Just a couple of weeks ago, I was able to get the new "Pretty in Pink" for under $9 shipped*. They list both at the same price of $8.24.

EDIT: *this was at the ch.com site, not the standard Columbia House store.

FYI-DDD is currently running a BOGO on Paramount titles and the new version of B&B Do America is included(the price is $12.89). I ordered it along with Apocalypse Now-the Complete Dossier for $13.67 shipped(AN was $13.67).

Check out this thread for details-
