Re: 13th Annual Sci-Fi/Fantasy Challenge Discussion Thread

A good insomnia viewing might be Criterion’s Until the End of the World. I enjoyed this ~5 hour film over two nights, but not sure how to describe or recommend it.

Re: Quibi Streaming service -- Launches April 6, 2020

I still have a few days left; have watched the first episodes of Most Dangerous Game and some thriller/kidnapper show. Both were decent, and perhaps I’ll binge a bit the next few days.

Re: Criterion Sale 50% off MSRP - Barnes & Noble July 10, 2020 through ??Aug 2, 2020

As much as Iíd probably love it and watch it, I never will. I have to justify the thousands Iíve spent on having a once nearly complete Criterion collection, so I only watch them on disc.

Re: The Slurpee Icee Slushie Frozen drink thread

Tried the Red Bull Slush at Sonic the other day. They are half price in the app this summer. Added strawberries and my wife and I loved it.

Re: Comments, Suggestions & Feedback for the 2020 Horror Challenge

A poll is obviously going to overwhelmingly be for starting it as early as you make an option. So donít use those results to justify whatever you want to do.

My thoughts are that each individual...

Re: Quibi Streaming service -- Launches April 6, 2020

I’m pretty sure I cancelled the day I signed up, but will double check, thanks. Have only watched one episode so far, maybe I’ll try a few more tonight.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

Checked my local store for the first time all year. None of the big finds mentioned above. Almost bought season 3 of 30 Rock for $5, but wised up.

Re: 13th Annual Sci-Fi/Fantasy Challenge Discussion Thread

Haven’t embarrassed myself by sharing a dream recently, so here is last night’s Challenge qualifying entry:

I was Matthew Broderick in a mash-up of his Godzilla and Jurassic Park. The final scene...

Re: Hamilton (2020) -- live production with the original Broadway cast

Saw it last night for the first time in any iteration. Wow. Brilliant writing and so entertaining.

Re: 11th Annual Historical Challenge Discussion Thread, 22 May 2020-5 July 2020

I’ve decided that the HBO series Watchmen can count for both challenges, and after a couple episodes was sure that it was going to be my favorite thing for both. But then I watched Hamilton...

Re: Comments, Suggestions & Feedback for the 2020 Horror Challenge

I’m actually against starting it early, fwiw, unless it is Criterion only for the September Challenge.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Actually, it looks like a lot of it is complete. Hack/Slash, Curse Words, Copra, Redlands, several others, not even counting the several mini-series.

This might be the best bundle yet.

Re: Marvel acquires the Aliens and Predator licenses

Since pretty much their first year, Dark Horse leaped to my #1 publisher in terms of overall quality. But after losing so many licenses the past few years, they’ve dropped below Image and...

Re: Carl Reiner dead at 98

Opened this thread to post this Twitter thread. Well worth the read. :rip: Carl, thank you for some of the finest comedy in American history, and the still greatest sitcom.

Re: Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy vs. Nolan's Batman trilogy

As time goes on I’m more and more of the opinion that the Dark Knight trilogy is vastly overrated, and I think I like the Spider-man films more than most, but there is still no question that Nolan’s...

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 15th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/31)

So I finally discovered podcasts a few years ago, but stuck to a couple narrow topics (comics and religion) until now. Stumbled onto Mick Garris’ Post Mortem and am loving it. What other horror...

Re: DC partners with Walmart

Well booger. I loved the format and wished the combination of new content and solid story reprints would create new readers. Heck, even for old collectors they were a good value if even one of the...
