Re: Money Heist aka La casa de papel (Netflix)

You probably will want to cut your losses and not continue.
I have two eps left on season 4, and while I agree that conceptually/logically the show is far-fetched, I like the characters and I am a...

Re: Tales from the Loop (Amazon) premieres 4/3/20

Finished up the series this morning - enjoyed it quite a bit. I imagine the relatively slow pacing will frustrate some, but the storytelling is really well done.

Re: Money Heist aka La casa de papel (Netflix)

This was a pleasant surprise - didn't know a new season was coming.
S04 is next up for me, after I finish 'Tales From The Loop'....

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

I had tickets for an April 24th Chicago show by The Residents, and naturally the band announced weeks ago that the tour had been postponed.
I get an email last night from the venue and the band that...

The 30th anniversary tour of 'Flood' was a lot of fun. Opening set featured the entire album (minus 'Istanbul' - which was played late in...

Re: Roger Waters "This Is Not a Drill" 2020 North American Tour

Tickets acquired for the Chicago show.
Waters (and Animals/Wall era Pink Floyd) is a definite 'bucket list' show for me.

Re: Terminator: Dark Fate (Tim Miller, 2019) The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Enjoyed the hell out of it. Action sequences were balls out nutty, Arnold was comedy gold ("I said don't do it!"), and seeing Linda back made me very, very happy.
Physics/logic be damned, I thought...

Re: In the Shadow of the Moon (2019, D: Mickle) S: Holbrook, Coleman, Hall -- Netflix

Ultimately not a fan of this one - despite a solid cast (including a sadly underutilized Rachel Keller).
The setup was interesting, but from that point there were just too many plot gaps that I...

Re: Putting your Pet down.

So sorry for you - those decisions are incredibly difficult.
But imo it's all about quality of life, and a pet at 16 or 17, well that is a good lifespan.

The important thing is that you were...

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Wow. I am a huge fan of both bands (at different points in my life) but I would certainly have figured James would be the headliner.
Great bill, either way.

Re: Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (Tarantino, 2019) The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

There was a black-and-white 1960s Red Apple cigarettes commercial with Leo that had a funny payoff.

Re: Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (Tarantino, 2019) The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Well, that was completely entertaining. The performances, the dialogue, the fucking music (the Stones 'Out of Time' had me anxious for what I thought was to come), the set design/backgrounds, the...

55"-65" recommendations

With prices dropping madly it's really time to upgrade my faitfhul Panasonic plasma - and I have been out of touch of what the hot shit manufacturer/models are these days.
If anyone cares to mention...

Re: Dark - Netflix Original (German w English subs)

That's my hesitation on watching S02. I binged S01 last year, and my head was spinning at the time keeping everything and everyone clear in my head.
I liked the first season a lot, but I really...

Re: Midsommar (2019, D: Ari Aster) -- S: Pugh, Poulter, Reynor, Harper

Saw 'Midsommar' yesterday morning - and the thing is still rattling around in my head. Just a wonderfully weird trip all the way around.
Florence Pugh is remarkable throughout. I was not familiar...

I noticed the other day - by accident - that the Spotify channel on Roku appears to be working again.
Not sure when that happened.....
